i have seen in news paper that your service will windup on 31.12.09. is this true statement reply me

It is true that World space Indian operations are winding up on 31.12.2009. Unfortunately last month I purchased a new set to gift it to my sister and now I dont know what will happen to the money which I spent. Can anybody tell me how to get back the amount?????

There was a rumour spreading that world space will be winding up shortly. Suddenly on[protected] our world space radio stopped and started flashing TDM GONE. We tried to reach world space through customer care which we could never reach despite waiting for our turn more than one hour on 2 to 3 occasions. we felt convinced that world space has finally wound up. We had validity of our payments up to Feb'10. This is another example o[censored]nfair business ethics. In India, anybody can cheat the helpless customers and get away with it.

Is anybody listening??

Worldspace radio was the life line of our house and we were so much used to listening Farishta, Jhankar and Tunak Punjabi uninterruptedly. It definitely deserved some graceful sendoff.

I never imagined world space radio would be such a big cheat.Since 31 12 09 i also have tried to contact cheter or shall i say theif, but either i was grtting line buysy or recorded massage even holding for more then one Hr.I request all customers of W.S.R. TO POST THEIR COMPLAINS on this sight.I have all ready sent them 2 e mails, but when i opened this web sight i came to know the real picture.A lso forword u r complain to cunsumer forum. Let us teach onother Raju(of satyam) a lesso.n of his life

This is cheating and forgery. I am sure the team knew well in advance that the operations will be shut down by the end of 2009. In spite of that they have forced the existing customers to renew their subscription. Even for me TDM gone message was displayed on receiver from 31 Dec 2009. I tried calling customer care several times and only i can hear is recorded music and voice - No executive comes online to resolve the matter. My subscription is valid until Feb 2011 and I paid 2000 Rs. Does anyone know how to teach these goons a lesson?

World Space was loved for its content of music and uninterrupted service. But this is really a pathetic way of winding up. No official communication was sent by them and their intentions were clear. I received a SMS message for the first time from them on Dec 23, 2009 to buy another BPL radio for Rs. 2000, offer valid only for 2 days, when they knew they were winding up on Dec 31, 2009. Since it is filing bankruptcy, they have tried to amass as much money as possible so that they have enough cash on hand. This is unethical corporate governance and it can happen only in India as Indian customers are taken for granted.

I visited their India website. The pay channel is still open - you can subscribe for WorldSpace Satellite radio even today..! All other options are closed. But their customer care and other links are blocked. It does not take you to their US website either. If you go to worldspace.com, you can find a special announcement for Indian subscribers which tells how they may contact us in case a claim servicing agency takes over the assets of WorldSpace. That is the only ray of hope as of now.

I am another victim of the whole episode with set No. [protected].

Hoping to get some resolution soon from the World Space team. I can't even dream that they have shut their stores. Very unfortunate.

Iam another subscriber to the worldspace raido.
My subscription is valide till oct 2011.
I am getting the signal TDM gone.since ist of january.
I am not able to reach the customer care no at all
I have sent 5 emails so far.

I totally agree with Deepak Prabhu's statement "why did they ask to renew if they knew it was going to be discontinued". Although I had 3 months of my subscription left they called me and gave this offer for Rs. 2000 with a validity upto Feb 2011. How many such subscribers have fallen for this trick. Knowning fairly well that the highest number of subscribers are from India, they have made a fast buck before existing from India. The worst part of the deal is that they kept on selling more units even during the month of December. This proves what a big fraud the company is. No doubt that the music was far more superior than any other service provider, that does not mean we should let go so easily. i request all the subscribers to send in their details, as they has asked for on their US Website.

In this regards it is submitted that this unit had purchased 15 sets of one world BPL Digital receiver from your Pvt. Limited vide your Invoice No. [protected] dated 08.10.2009, for Rs. 26, 985/-, consequently one year (12 Months) subscription charge vide your Invoice No. [protected] dated 8.10.2009 for Rs. 30, 000/-. G total Rs. 56, 985/- (Rupees fifty six thousand nine hundred eighty five) only paid by this unit vide your money receipt No. 1905 dated 03.10.2009.

2. After receiving 15 sets of digital receiver through courier 07 nos installed at FDLS and 01 No installed at Bn HQ Kupwara on 10th Dec 2009 and 07 Nos sealed pack new one digital receiver lying in store for installation to remaining FDLS after snow season.

3. The world space satellite broad caste service terminated in Indian on 31st Dec 2009. As a consequence, the digital sets of world space Radio are lying un- functional and unit not getting beneficial on its.

4. In the fact of above you are thereby requested that, kindly refund the cost of 15 Nos Digital receiver for Rs. 26, 985/- and 12 months subscription charge for Rs.
30, 000/-, G/ Total Rs. 56, 985/- (Rupees fifty six thousand nine hundred eighty five) only to this unit by getting 15 nos digital receiver sets supplied by your agency to this unit as admissible under costumer rules.

5. An early action for further payment is requested to avoid unnecessary audit objection in this regards please.

Wat a pity? The same case as Deepak Prabhu's...I too av paid the yrly subsc amt Rs.2000/...no response to calls to cust care...wat do v do...my cust id is [protected], reciver id [protected].

We have the yearly subcribtion of world space settalite radio in our organisation office . since last two months we are not recieving any reception of the same. The office at nasik is been shifted and the phone nos provided are not working. kindly do the needful to provide us the said service or pl ask the company to pay back the amount paid by us.

WS could have inform the subscribers that they are going to wind up the operations in kerala . Instead of, they sent the SMS AND COLLECTING THE RENEWAL FEE OF RS.2000/- NO DOUBT THIS IS PACA CHEATING. We have to raise the voice against the fraud to the authority concerned.
