[Resolved] DishTV — denied pick-by-channel service despite payment | |||||
From the time i opted for dishtv back in 2013, their service has been extremely shoddy. I discontinued service in 2016, but out of compulsion by family, i was requested to reinstate it for a specific time and so recently, i got a new connection. Problems began, as expected, from day 1. I went for the south platinum pack with sports add-on initially (About a month ago). Firstly, dishtv has a stupid algorithm that automatically assumes that if you are from bangalore, you must be interested in kannada channels, your sms text alerts will be in kannada.. You will get a whole bunch o[censored]seless, cheap-priced kannada channels whether you like it or not. So, i wanted to change the pack to pick-by-channel so i can choose only predominantly tamil channels, but i was told that i could do that only after 14th june 2018. Fine, i waited till 14th, and when i tried it, i was asked to recharge my account balance because pick-by-channel is for a minimum period of 3 months. And of course, if i choose pick-by-channel, dishtv decides not to give me any hd channels. God knows why we customers went and bought hd television sets when dishtv recommends us old prehistoric cathode ray tube television sets in 2018!!! And then i paid up the minimum balance and selected my channels, and voila! I got a message saying my request had been accepted and initiated and that i would get a call from one of your executives. But nothing for almost 24 hours, and so i had to call back and speak to one executive (Who identified herself as ms. Sonal). In the mean time, i even received messages saying that my previous pack has been continued for me. Naturally, i was concerned and told sonal that i wanted pick-by-channel. And then she tells me, "sir you are not eligible for pick-by-channel." I asked why. She says, "i don't know sir, some customers are not eligible..". I again requested to know what she meant by "some customers". She then tells me that some senior manager will call me within 30 minutes. It is now more than 2 hours...!! So, essentially, i have now paid up more than ₹ 1800 into my account, which i am sure dishtv is cunningly deducting day-by-day (For my previous plan) even without offering me the new product / service i opted and paid for. This is nothing short of fraud, and incompetent service and must be reported. Was this information helpful? | |||||
