Family First Plus — Fraud calls and false information

I got a call on 13th Novemeber 2015, stating that it was from HDFC bank. True caller also said hdfc. They said I was had good credit history and were offering 5-6 benefits (at Rs 6990): ICICI lombard insurance cover, 2 holidays, a Giordano watch, 2 free health check-up, Finedge financial planner and Dining plus card Since I actually thought it was HDFC, I did not do a background check. A guy named Hemant Ahuja spoke to me introducing himself as the manager. I was constantly questioning about why should I go for this. Finally I was convinced for the fact that the dining plus card would be very beneficial for me as daily need like grocery and clothes would give me 15-20% off. I had to pay through the IVR system. I received the kit in 1 week. I found the watch was poor quality and looked second hand. The holiday vouchers were not valid for certain months in certain places (the peek months). The biggest disappointment was the dining plus card which cannot be used in any grocery outlets in Bangalore. The few covered dining and shopping outlets near me had a high minimum bill amount. So the card cannot be used anywhere. I contacted the company for refund. First person demanded Rs 1000 as penalty which was not told. Fortunately on the company website it was mentioned this penalty is applicable only after 20 days. So again I called on the number provided on the website. I got the refund for everything else except the policy. Now I'm stuck with the policy as they have given my Dad's name as payer instead of me. My friend too got a similar call saying they are from HDFC. I don't know how these people get this database. These are strictly fraud calls. Be a policy marketing company on your own. Don't use banks names for fraud bussiness. Also give complete information regarding your product. Don't give false information like incase of dining plus card. If I hadn't checked website I would have lost additional Rs 1000. I don't know how such companies survive inspite of numerous complaints
