On the 28th of February a UPI payment of Rs 1585 was made for paying electricity bill to MSEDC via freecharge, however this didn't go through and I have successfully received the refund for the same (UPI ID[protected] .
Since the above payment was unsuccessful, there was a further payment made to the same merchant for the same amount Rs 1585 (UPI ID[protected] but the merchant never received this payment either as I checked the status on their site and otherwise as well.
however this amount was deducted from my bank account and it shows that it was successfully credited to freecharge and no refund was initiated.
I am writing this as I have not heard back from freecharge on the refund status of this UPI transaction (UPI ID[protected]
It has been more than 7 days since the original payment and I have not received any proper response from freecharge customer care.
They keep saying that they are looking into the issue and nothing more is updated in regards to the refund status neither is any information provided as to what checks are being done at their end.
As per RBI guidelines any UPI payment i[censored]nsuccessful should be refunded within T+1 day and when I approached my bank they have asked for freecharge's confirmation that the refund won't be processed or their bank statement to check ahead which is also not being provided to me.
I need this money back in my account ASAP since the purpose wasn't fullfiled.
