GATE-2015 — Refund of extra payment made to gate while filling gate form

This is to inform you that I Siddhant Khanna appeared for Gate exam on[protected]. My registration No is ME33037S2319.While making payment for gate form there was huge rush on the site and the site crashed. When I made my first time payment of Rs 1500 for gate form I didn’t received mail or confirmation. Then I called at IIT Delhi they asked me to make payment of Rs 1500 again and said that this extra payment would refund to your account. I checked the site there it was mentioned that if in case due to huge rush on the site and the server does not respond make payment again till you receive confirmation. The site also mention that extra payment made by you will be refunded to your account. It’s been 7 months till now I have not received the amount. This is 16th time I am sending the mail. No corporation has been made from IIT side. I called at IIT Kanpur so many times and they never picked up my call. Finally 2 weeks ago IIT Roorkee answered my call and told me that the money is with IIT Kanpur as they are the organizing body of this year GATE .They told me that if IIT Kanpur is not picking my call then I can contact to my Zonal IIT ie IIT Delhi. I called IIT Delhi and they told me that there is a scam going on. IIT Kanpur will not refund my money. They also told me that like me there are thousand of students who didn’t receive refund amount. They told me that everyday they receive calls from student regarding complaint against IIT Kanpur. They told me that IIT Kanpur has stopped picking up calls of students who made payment more than once and refused to refund money. They told me that like me they receive emails of thousand of students complaining of not receiving extra payment amount. They told me that they forward our mails to IIT Kanpur and no reply comes from there side . I was shocked to hear this thing. I was shocked to see so many complaints registered against IIT Kanpur. There would be around 15000 complaints registeried against them for not refunding the money. I discussed this matter with my Advocate and he told me that strick action would be taken against IIT Kanpur. I have lost faith in IIT. Shame on IIT Kanpur for giving rise to such scam. Kindly refund my money of extra payment made ie Rs 1500 along with 7 months interest at the earliest otherwise this matter would be taken to court . Siddhant Khanna
