Govt Of Karnataka, Department Of Minorities (Gokdom) — Approved scholarships not been re-disbursed due to technical failure in deposition at first attempt

The gokdom transferred the scholarship amount to sanctioned students for 2015-16. On 12 april 2016, deposit sms were received from gokdom. But actually amount was not got credited, due to reasons of account invalid or account status or bank details provided.

From then onwards, we are frequently visiting the gokdom office, by submitting the passbook scan hardcopy and to the mail id provided. There are overall 500+ students, under this category who have not received scholarship due to re transfer pending. Many intermediate dates mentioned by the gokdom staff members for the transfer of scholarship amount, was not found true and the scholarship is not been disbursed yet.

Now we are at point of payment of college fees for admission to next year. If the scholarship amount not disbursed now at right time, then it will impact the students badly. Mainly the students who don’t have proper account status i. E. Rarely use, will be financially more unstable and in more need of scholarship. The department should ensure that, they should disburse the amount properly by other means of cheque or with the new details in quick time, so that the students should not be impacted.
