Hero Motocorp — Scooter maestro edge | |||
I purchased a brand new scooter “maestro edge” from one of authorised dealers of “hero motocorp. Pvt ltd” from ghaziabad on 7th march 2016. It started giving problems soon after. Initially its engine used to stop abruptly on slowing down and starting problems. I told this problem to the dealer over phone and he assured to rectify this at the time of first service. But much before first service when the meter reading was just 165kms the scooter broke down permanently while i was driving back from my kids school on 30th march 2016. I had to tow it to the dealer’s workshop. The mechanic found that the spark plug had burnt down and replaced it with a new one and did some fuel adjustment and assured that it would not repeat and the scooter was now fine. But to my utter dismay it started giving problems again a few days after. And finally it stopped abruptly and did not start. I called the mechanic from the deale’rs workshop to my place. He found that the spark plug again had burnt down, again changed the spark plug and charged me rs.60/- for it and did not give me. I also noticed that during this one month the scooter was giving very bad mileage around 25km per litre. When finally it again broke down fourth time, i called up the dealer manager and asked him strongly to get it checked properly and fix the defect permanently. Their mechanic took the scooter to their workshop. I followed him after some time. My worst apprehension had come true when i found in the workshop that the mechanic had bare opened the engine of the scooter as he had found out the defect evidently inside it. When i asked what the problem was? He said that the piston was not working properly and had to change it. Now it has become evident that there is some material and workmanship defect in the product. Since i had purchased the product brand new and paid for its full price value, thinking and trusting on the warranties of the company that the product supplied is free of any material and workman defect, it is obligatory on the part of the company / the dealer to recall / withdraw the product sold to me and replace it with another new one -- either the same product or similar product of matching value. Therefore, i request the hero motocorp. Pvt. Ltd. To immediately take notice of my grievance and provide me with another new scooter of same value in replacement of it as warrantied by them. *i shall be very grateful to them if this issue is taken up expeditiously. **pl find attached the related documents and a few relevant photographs showing the engine being repaired by the mechanic of the authorised workshop. *** i have not picked up the scooter from the workshop so it is still with them.
