ICICI Bank — Dispute of withdrawal of Rs 4000

On 23rd October 2014, I did a cash withdrawal transaction of amount Rs 4000 but after waiting for the sufficient time the ATM machine did not dispense neither the money not the receipt. Machine just made a noise the noise twice and displayed the Home page. Immediately, I registered a complaint with the customer care for the same (SR[protected] and on which replied after 2 days that the money has been paid successfully and cannot be reversed. On 28th October 2014, I requested for the supportive documents and the CCTV footage on the basis of which bank has responded. I received a response from the bank on 29th October 2014 to visit the nearest branch (SR[protected]. I am continuously following up with the branch manager but he keeps telling the same story that he is trying for the revert of the transaction. Then I decided to report the matter to the higher level of authority of the bank and every time they just gave the new date of the resolution of the dispute but till date the bank failed to resolve the matter. Earlier the bank gave the estimation of three days for the resolution but this time they have estimated one month. The biggest problem is that there is no one in the bank to tell me what exactly is happening in my case. If I talk to customer care they don’t have any response since the case is still in progress and they don’t have any update. If I talk to branch manager, he just repeats the old story. And if I reach to higher authorities through mail, they just provide the new date of resolution. So exactly no one is resolving the matter. On 22nd November 2014, an executive from the verification department of the bank visited my house and took some documents saying the bank has identified that there was a problem with the ATM machine and they will ask the bank head office to revert the transaction and to get the status on the same from the branch. But as of now nothing has happened till date and as usual branch is not updated about this. This raises a very serious question, on what basis bank responded the very first time to me that the transaction can’t be revert and has been paid successfully. If I would have settled with the response and had not made this much noise then the bank would have digested my money. For the last one month I am suffering and the bank is just fooling me. They give me privilege debit card but don’t mean their customer privileged. So now I am knocking the door of consumer forum for justice.
