ICICI Bank — fictitious call asking card details

sir, on 23/2/15 i got a call from cell no [protected]. a lady spoke from the other end. she said ; I am calling from ICICI Bank. your card has been enhanced to a photo ID type card and your credit limit has been doubled. To activate this card we have to first get the details of your id. please tel your 16 digit card no.(I did} now tell me your 3 digit no on the reverse of your card. I said why do you require this no. this is not to be revealed to any body she said; no sir, we are from icici and you need not worry. with this no. alone nobody can transact. i gave her the 3 digit no. she said your verification is all over. now this card will be blocked and you will get a 6 digit no from our bank within a few minutes.i will call you again. after about 5 minutes i got a sms from icici bank with a 6 digit transaction password. i got suspicious because it was a transaction password and not for a new card.when she called again i refused to reveal this no. and hung up. I then called the cell no from a different mobile and asked who is speaking. the lady said this is icici bank office.i closed the call Today again i got a call from cell no. [protected] and a male spoke: sir i am from icici bank and your card has been enhanced to a photo id type card and your reward points in your old card will be sent to you by dd as these points cannot be transferred to your new card. we will send you a 6 digit no to your mobile. saying such he closed the call. within 2 to 3 minutes i got a 6 digit transaction password. this time too i was very cautious i did not reveal the no when he called back.i threatened him that i will complain to the police and hung up. i immediately called customer care and told the officer what all happened.he appreciated my doing and advised me to write to icici bank. i have done as advised and also i have blocked my card and also requested to send a fresh card. thro this letter i have appraised you about what all are happening .now it is your turn to act on this and avoid such fraudulent things arvind jain chennai
