[Resolved] Idea Cellular — Payment issues, disconnection of sim without reason, calls from hired "recovery agents" and advocate notice | |||
Dear sir/madam, I have had idea connections since 2010 until early 2016. I have been facing constant payment issues with the idea care at vile parle east in mumbai. Despite my payments being on time and never having defaulted, my connections have been constantly disconnected since december until i was forced to port out to airtel on my oldest connection. My brand new 2nd connection (Purchased in december 2015) was also disconnected in early january 2016 despite payment of the bill on my end and i never even got a proper chance to use the sim card since idea cellular barred it for no apparent reason (You can check the call records etc for the same). I tried resolving this payment confusion and despite giving idea cellular full details of my cheque details, they kept proceeding to rudely proclaim that i havent paid the bill and that they cannot activate my connections and that i would have to keep calling them to re activate every 12 hours, what kind of company has such policies especially when the problems are clearly on their end. You seem to have outsourced the back end administrative work to a rude and inefficient team. After all this, idea cellular has the audacity to send me the bill for the month of january for the 2nd sim card despite me not being able to use it since they conveniently sought to bar my 2nd connection in the first week of january 2016 when i needed it most for my nri lady guests. Imagine how embarrassing and unsafe this was. Finally in march 2016 when idea cellular kept barring my main 1st connection despite clear payment on my end and after a few rude phone calls on idea cellular's end, i decided to port out to airtel as soon as my payment was clear on idea cellular's end. Clearing the last payment involved multiple visits to the idea care and as usual, they delayed it as far as possible. I clearly asked idea care how can i be charged for a sim that has been barred. After all this, idea cellular continued to send me bills for the never used 2nd connection and i clearly told the idea care call centre that i never got to use it at all thanks to them. On 15th june 2016, i received an "advocate notice" regarding the 2nd connection and asking me to pay the bill of rs 583. I fail to see why i should pay for the same especially after idea cellular caused me so much mental trauma and anguish despite clear payments on my end. Why did i have to suffer and go through this and be treated like a beggar despite paying a premium? Is it rational that i must pay for something i never got to use? I even paid full price for my 1st connection even though i was ill treated and i had to call idea every 12 hours to "beg" and get it unbarred since it was affecting my professional and personal life even though i had paid rs760 on my end for the same. I soon started getting calls from hooligans (Namely priya agarwal and ashok kumar) hired by idea cellular to call and harass customers at odd times and impersonating "dilli lok adaalat" and using foul and disgusting language and saying "aap ka kuch len den baaki hai" over and over again. I seriously doubt the above are by trai guidelines and i have a good mind to send them a copy of this ridiculous treatment of "esteemed customers" by idea cellular. I seriously believe that justice prevails in this country and that this will prove to be an eye opener to idea cellular because their image is being tarnished by such ridiculous scenarios, how can the idea cellular legal team and higher level executives ignore such cases and blindly mistreat customers like this.
