Idea Cellular — Unaffordable bill after porting out stating Pro RATA charges | |||||
I had tried porting my number [protected] from IDEA Kerala to AIRTEL to avail AIRTEL's 4G services. As per the plan i took up i could use 5.4GB of data with which i had taken a booster pack of 2GB which means in total a data of 7.4GB. I had tried porting out of IDEA on 26th July but stating that i hadnt paid the bill IDEA had rejected the porting but i paid the bill within 5 mins of getting that message(which happened on 4th of August when my bill date is 10th of August). After rejecting AIRTEL on checking the porting status asked me to port again as the previous one got rejected. When that port out was requested, i was sent a message asking me to pay a payment of Rs. 428 which i paid without any hesitation. Hence i got ported to AIRTEL. But on August 26th i got a bill with a bill of Rs. 13000. The explanation IDEA gave me for the Bill was because i used about 3.2GB at Pro RATA. For 3.2GB of Pro RATA i was charged Rs.12000 more than what i am supposed to pay. What injustice is this. 1. First of all no where is it mentioned that Pro RATA charges will be taken on porting. 2. Second of all, how in earth for 3.2GB of data can i be charged Rs.13000. If the bill was around Rs.[protected], i would have paid it for sure. But Rs. 13000 is insane. It is now almost 13 days after i responded but i havent recieved any call from Idea regarding the same apart from paying the bill.
I was also a airtel user. On 12 of july, 2017 i have ported out my number from idea postpaid to Airtel prepaid as I want to use airtel 4G. On 15th of July, 2017 my number has ported. I agree that my previous operator i.e., idea, will generate my bill as per pro rata basis of 15days bill. But unfortunately idea has generated it for whole month and said that they never make prorata upon monthly rentals. This is really seems like theft of my money. As i have used their service for 15days and they going to charge me for a whole month. Kindly help, and will not going to call you on any of your instant help line numbers you provided.
