[Resolved] Idea Money — fraud call from citibank credit card | |||
Hi, My name is qameruddin salam from i received a fraud phone call from representing as citibank executive from (+91 [protected]) Saying that my reward points going to be expired which can be converted to cash of 4700/- and will be added to my credit account and will be adjusted in my next bill or i can withdraw also. He told my credit card number and told me that i have received a new card which i only knows that and how many rewardpoints i have, and to convert this he will do certain process then i will get an sms, i got doubt but since knows my all details i agreed to start the process reveal the pin which i received in sms. He did 4 transaction of 4700. Please find below are the details: After finishing the call when i checked all my sms i came to know that it was a fraud call and 4 transaction of 4700 which is 18800/- made from my credit card number:4386 xxxx xxxx xx57. Please see below transaction statement i received: Date: ref: details: amt 18/9 [protected] idea payment 4700/ 18/9 [protected] idea payment 4700/ 18/9 [protected] idea payment 4700/ 18/9 [protected] idea payment 4700/ I called citibank customer care and informed the incidence they blocked my credit card and debit card immediately and asked me file fir in local police station. I approach hyderabad cyber crime police loged a complaint and send the fir copy citibank. They said they coordinate with police and investigate. It took 3 weeks as of now, finally they sent Following email: Dear mr. Salam, We refer to your query dated september 19, 2017 and october 04, 2017. We were unable to address your query within the stipulated time frame as your query was under investigation. We regret the delay in our response. We wish to confirm that based on your representation we have investigated the transactions incurred at m/s idea payment in. Our records indicate that the transaction under inquiry has been made using secure information and authenticated through the secure internet password along with the credit card details. Once the transaction is approved on a card account, the bank is not authorized to cancel the same unless the cancellation request is received from the merchant. This is as per the credit card association guidelines. Therefore, despite raising a dispute on the above mentioned transaction, we were unable to cancel the same immediately. We note that you have lodged a complaint with the law enforcement authorities. We assure you that we shall extend our full co-operation should the law enforcement authorities approach us for any information / clarification in this regard." Please take severe action against the people who did this and reverse the amount back to my account immediately. Immediate action is really appreciated.
