India Post — Parcel delivery delays

My father booked an air parcel from Chandigarh PO on 9th March to be delivered to me in New Zealand. He was told it will take between `15-20 days for that to be delivered.
Today, 19th April it has been 40 days and the tracking system says "Send receptacle Abroad (Otb)" as of 16th March.
My father went to the PO and enquired about this in the first week of April and was told to contact someone in the Delhi branch as it is an overseas parcel. When my father contacted him, he was told that due to less direct flights because of COVID, they had to send it on a flight via Dubai and that parcel is currently there.
I am appalled at the lack o[censored]pdate/ current status online. The parcel contains very important stuff for winters as the winters have begun in NZ and I am still without those necessities.
My father tried thrice to contact the Delhi branch staff again today, and no one has answered the call.
If a service is currently not provided OR is running late OR the delivery timeframes have changed, this should be clearly communicated to the sender or the receiver !!!
The most pathetic thing is the 'latest update' on the India post Tracking, which is still the same as 16th March.

Can someone check this at the earliest or will this also go unnoticed/ un replied like the many complaints I have sent to India Post?
If India Post cannot live up to the delivery timeframes, the consumer must be notified rather than us chasing them and getting no where !!!

Please check into this and provide an update OR send me an escalation contact who can help.
