We've been using the Kent RO Grand+ product since 2013 and have been conducting periodic service with the help of their authorized service centers in Kochi, Kerala. So far we have invested the cost of buying another Water Purifier of similar specifications.
I'm writing one of my recent experiences and observations made so far about Kent RO. In January 2021, We replaced the Choke/Controller of the product by paying ₹935/- excluding the service charge(₹300/-). Precisely after 7 months (exactly today), the same choke is replaced (Charged ₹1000 + ₹300) because it is not giving the proper voltage to turn on the diaphragm pump. The choke is getting turned ON and the light is turning green but no proper output to turn on the other equipment. So it is my 5th Choke replacement since 2013. No other electronics product is use has demanded this level of service. They unofficially provide a 3 months warranty for a critical part that is highly priced compared to its quality. An industrial-grade SMPS which costs almost the same provides 3 years of warranty. So this is the cheap strategy followed by Kent RO to generate more profit - Provide cheap quality spares at a high cost to ensure periodic service calls. The real frustration is that the high service cost is involved with minimum use of the product. So what would be the case if it is in continuous use? In India, companies like Kent RO are getting a free run to cheat the customers in the name of service & spare.
So if this is the case, then every 6 months the company is earning ₹1, 300/- without any effort and how long should the customer continue this circus?
I'd like to urge my fellow customers/buyers, Please do ground research about such companies before taking a purchasing decision on their products. Kent RO would be one of the worst companies that follow unethical business practices and Fraudulent Service Strategies to grow their business. I'm still wondering about the fact that a major component of the product supplied as a genuine spare doesn't even have 6 months to 1 year of warranty from the company. Also, I tried contacting customer care and felt like it was one of the biggest mistakes after listening to their response. I'd like to end it on a positive note, History tells us that companies with fraud practices have never sustained in the market over a certain period, and hope the same happens in the case of Kent RO else they should improve their commitment to the customer by providing quality products.
