I have purchased micromax canvas e353 in jan 2016.
On 3rd april my cell got locked and was asking for a ppp(Privacy protection password)
I took my handset for unlocking the device at service center of sakchi tank road jamshedpur jharkhand on 4th april around 12.45 hrs.At the very first instance without listening to the problem what my set had the representative told me in a disreputable manner "your screen is broken so we need to change it and the screen comes along with the display unit so it will also be changed. It will cost you around 3500 inr."after telling him what was the problem with this set he told me you will be charged 280 inr for getting it unlocked i have asked it is the problem of system which is supposed to sent the privacy protection password to any of the emergency contact i have provided as they are getting a message to their numbers as "please keep this number in case of my micromax stolen."however my all efforts to explain them was in vein as he said if you need to get it unlocked you will have to pay 280 inr thats all. By the time the service center manager was arrived i explained him the whole matter on this he brought out a new theory of the problem with your carrier/network but he was unable to explain how the first message was delivered by the same network later on i managed a call from the service provider for him and the service provider told that one message generated by the system is delivered so will the another one but the if it is not generated that how it will delivered.He was unable to understand and told me that you will have to pay for the unlocking.
I handed over the set with job card ref no-e[protected] to the service center on 04th april 15 at 1300 hrs with an assurance of getting it back after 10-15 minitues time. But after 25 minitues when i approached to the representative he told me that it is not getting connected with the system so i left the site with an assurance of getting a call form the service center.Till 1700 hrs i didn’t received any communication form the center around 1720 hrs i visited the service center again where i have informed the same that it is not getting connected with the system we will try and revert back to you as may be the progress.
I called the center at 0955 hrs on 5th april 15 regarding the status of my handset and i was told we will revert back to you as may be the progress till 1155 hrs there was no communication received from the service center at 1205 hrs i made a call to the center and asked about the handset i got a new theory that due to the crack in the screen the hardware of handset was not working so it is not getting connected with the system and for bringing back to normal operation we need to change the mother board and display with screen which is going to cost around 5500 inr. I told them that i will visit the center in the evening.Around 1745 hrs on 5th april i reached the center where i asked the technician about the working of anti theft and role of privacy protection password and the working which he was not able to explain.On my explanation about the ppp he told me that due to the problematic hardware and motherboard the set is not sending the message.However he was unable to explain how the "please keep this number in case of my micromax stolen." message is getting deliverd with the same set. Iasked him that you escalate this matter to your higher technical authorities on this he told me that i have already sent a mail and told me that the service center will revert back to you within two days or as early as we receives any solution form our higher end.
With my own resources and support from android solutions i was able to unlock the set on 5th april around 1900 hrs working as it was early.
Till the 1700 hrs of 9th april 15, no communication received form service center, by the time i met with an another problem with the charging cable provided along with set i took the charging cable along with the set and shown it to the representative. He confirmed about the fault.
I asked the inquiry staff about my previous problem he said sir we dint received any communication regarding solution for your problem than i told him that give me a written diagnose report for my handset as what problem it has and probable solution along with the approximate amount required.The representative completley denied to provide the said report.
Told him about the charging cable problem he told me in a disreputable manner that hence your set’s screen is broken so it is out of warranty and so the accessories are too out of the scope of warranty. I asked to show me the written document or policy of micromax where it is clearly mentioned that the accessories will also go out of warranty in case of lapse of warranty to handset. On this another staff joined him and started arguing about the policy but not shown. I asked him that i want to see the manager he told me his number is written on the board so can talk to him.
I called on the number provided [protected] i tried to make call but the call was not picked
Later i checked the warranty card and the details in which nothing was mentioned about the relevancy with lapse of warranty due to damage of set with the lapse of warranty to its accessories.
I made a call to micromax customer care and explained about the whole seen created by the service center i was surprised to know that my job card was closed on the same same day 4th april and i was being avoided and wrongly informed that they were working on it as they kept my handset till the evening of 5th april.
He assured me to look into the matter and confirmed that he has arranged a call back form micromax in next 24 hrs.On 11th april 15 i received a call form micromax, however i was in a meeting so i requested to talk after one hr but till date i didn't received the call.
On 23/04/2016 i logged a complaint on micromax site with ref no ser[protected] in the morning and around 12 noon i received a call calming itself a representative from micromax head office gurgaon.
I explained all the things to her and asked whether the accessories is still in warranty as my my phone's screen in broken however the set is working absolutely fine and as per the details provided by micromax the handset is out of warranty. She said yes it is and you go to nearest micromax service center with the bill and tell them to replace the charging cable and if they deny you call on our customer care no.
I did the same thing and again the staff of tank road sakchi jamshedpur denied to do so.
As per the instruction i called up the help line number and told the representative to talk with him.
Now the representative is totally changed the tone and said no sir you have to pay for the same as it is out of warranty.
I asked them to give me the same thing in written clearly mentioning that in case of mobile is out of warranty the accessories will also not covered under the warranty but no one of them agreed to do so neither the service center nor the help line .
