Reliance Communications — Bill getting generated even after surrendering the connection- Humiliating and most inhuman behavior and harassment

Dear Sir,

This is to very deeply express my concern towards the most atrocious behavior we have been facing from Reliance Communications. I had been a customer since November 2013, for Reliance Netconnect and the service had been extremely unsatisfactory. Unable to tolerate further, I decided to switch over to an alternate internet service provider in April 2016 (3 months ago). Subsequently, after paying the bill for March 2016, I sent an email to rcom.[protected]@relianceebill.com and [protected]@relianceada.com requesting them to terminate my connection or advise me how to go about the formalities.

Immediately on 14th April 2016, I received an email from netconnect.[protected]@relianceada.com, signed by, Mangesh Bhayje, Officer - Customer Care, Reliance Communications Limited, acknowledging my former email which assured me that the services would be suspended within 7 days which clearly stated that, after the suspension of the services, I will not be charged for the monthly rental.

To my shock and dismay, despite receiving the above acknowledgement regarding suspension of my services, I have been receiving monthly bills for May, June and July, although I have completely stopped using the services. I have been receiving phone calls twice a day, badly harassing me to pay the bills. On June 17th 2016, I approached local Reliance Office at Attapur, regarding this, and I was directed to help desk, after spending about 2.5 hours at the office and finally the help desk executive, assured me that my bill amount would be waived off and created a waiver request for the same. In subsequent calls which I have been receiving from them every day, when I mention to them regarding the Waiver request, they reply back saying that the Waiver request cannot be made to Zero (which was earlier promised by them).

On Sunday 17th July, one person from Reliance had come to my house, in my absence and very arrogantly spoke to my elderly mother, saying that I have been using the services and not paying my bills at all and made a big unpleasant scene, which attracted the attention of neighbours, who had to interfere and drive the person away from the premises.

How am I responsible, if my services are not suspended despite the written assurance given by Reliance? I am attaching the content of the email in a separate document, which I had received from Reliance. This is indeed very disgusting and most degrading behaviour from such an esteemed organization like reliance.


In this regard, I hereby request you to please suspend/deactivate my Reliance Netconnect Services with IMMEDIATE EFFECT. Also, I want this case to be closed immediately without any further inconvenience to me in the form of calls, emails etc. which is wasting so much of my time and energy. In case I receive any calls/SMS from Customer Care related to this, in future, I will be forced to go to consumer forum
