Reliance Communications — Change of 4g unlimited data plan to limited plan without prior intimation

I have been using Reliance Netconnect Dongle (No. [protected]) with 5GB unlimited plan for a monthly rental of Rs.599/-. Two months before closure of CDMA services, I was recommended to upgrade to 4G plan. Before the upgrade of 4G I asked the customer care people about data plans and they clearly told me that it's going to be the same plan that you are using before. And I even got an email from Reliance about the upgrade and plan remaining the same and not to worry about it. I upgraded to 4G and purchased the Wi-Fi pod online. My 4G service got activated on 6 July 2016.

The postpaid bill for the period from[protected] to[protected] came to be Rs. – 107/- (negative; after adjustments). So the total bill payable for that cycle came to be Rs. 0 (Zero). However the E-bill for the period from[protected] to[protected] was being shown as Rs. 1970!!!

Upon enquiring with the Reliance retailer, I came to know that the monthly rental has been changed abruptly by the company and additional VAS charges have been levied upon. The plan change has not informed me by either mail or SMS. I was assured by Reliance customer care as well as the Reliance Retailer that the same data plan would continue with 5 GB unlimited plan after the upgrade. Even the Reliance 4G SIM voucher as well as the Reliance E-Bill mentions No increase in any item of the tariff for a period of 6 months from the date of enrolment under any tariff plan.

Updates:
Further upon posting my grievances on https://www.consumercomplaints.in as well as social media (read facebook); I received calls from customer care which accepted mistakes in billing on their part and agreed to issue corrected e-bill. I had not received any corrected bill from them, but my 4G data service was terminated abruptly. Additionally, I was informed by mail on 19/8/2016 that my credit limit of Rs. 2400/- had exceeded and I will have to pay Rs. 2789.79/- to continue the interrupted service. This came totally as a flyer as my credit limit had never been exceeded before. Upon visiting the Reliance retailer, I came to know that some adjustments were made and the billed amount is now Rs. 1064/-. I made a payment of Rs. 1070/- against it on 23/8/2016. I still have not got any payment acceptance confirmation from them and service remained terminated. Once again calling customer care; I am being told that I have exhausted 5 GB data and my 4G data connection will start ony on 11th of September 2016. Whoa !!! So when did a 5 GB unlimited connection change into a limited one….and use of bill payment. Feeling being fooled, conned and cheated !!! You lure customers for 4G unlimited data plans and abruptly force them into limited plans without any prior intimation. I don’t see any end to this vicious cycle. This is my last request for redressing my grievances, else will have to approach consumer court.

Complaint:
The data plan has been abruptly changed from unlimited to limited one without telling me about it. No email or message or call was sent regarding the plan change.
