Reliance Jewels — Refund Issue

We had purchased a diamond ring during republic day on zero making charges offer. I had purchased jewellery on other occasions also. We were told that we can get the sizes as per request and had given an advance. When we went to collect the ring, the reqd size was unavailable. We had to pay extra for the increasing the size. We were told that whenever we return, we will be paid the full amount b'coz of the offer. Unfortunately, one of the diamond came out during its first use. When approached, Reliance team said that this is a minor defect which normally does not happen and asked for some charges. Then I requested to refund my money and they said that refund will be made after small deduction. Finally I was paid Rs. 36, 639.72 against the invoice value of Rs. 40542 that too after lots of persuasion. When I enquired about this deduction, I was told that it is per their policy. I told the branch Manager in presence of the Sales Manager, she accepted that it was a mistake. Just by accepting mistakes, Reliance cannot runaway from its commitment. I feel Reliance don’t walk the talk and believe in getting business by hook or crook. Tanishq is million times better which walks the talk and can be more reliable.
