[Resolved]  Reliance Life Insurance — Deactivating Agent Code

Hello, I have taken RLI Invest Assure Policy, around 5 years back. I paid premium for 3 years. Now policy is lapsed. I am getting frequent calls from the Reliance Delhi office, saying that company have given me a bonus, but it will go to agent if I don't deactivate the agent code. And they said, for deactivating agent code, I'll have to purchase another policy or I'll have to post the documents to Delhi office. Then only they can deactivate the agent code associated with my policy. I received several calls are from PNM Services Pvt. Ltd. Saying that GBIC - Govt body for insurance council appointed them to manage the policies on which bonus is issued by the company but agent code is associated with it, and thus bonus cannot be transfer to the policy holder. They have also asked to take any policy to deactivate the agent code. All of the above callers said that as per IRDAs new guidelines, agent code needs to be deactivated to get my bonus issued by the Reliance. I hope this is right place to post my query. Please can you verify and validate whether such calls are fraudulent. If it is not fraud, then why agent should get my bonus, because bonus [if any] is entitled to the policy holder. Regards, Nikhil
