[Resolved]  Reliance Life Insurance — Harassment that i am going through in the name of 'legal heir certificate' (policy number[protected]

This is in reference to do with the harassment that has been caused by reliance life insurance to myself and my family since last 6 months. We are a family who had unfortunately bought a life insurance (Policy number –[protected] from reliance life in the year 2010. My father (Pradeep kumar bansal, the proposer) who had done the life insurance for me – mr. Roshan kumar bansal - passed away this year. Since he was the sole person responsible for taking care of the family, we are no longer in a position to pay the premium amount required for my policy every year. I have requested reliance life insurance to accept my surrender request and pay me my due so that i can support my family. However, reliance life is acting smart and asking me to bring a ‘legal heir certificate’ to do the needful.

To solve the issue, i brought the ‘legal heir certificate’ from my ward counselor. However, reliance life refused to accept it. Then i brought a ‘legal heir certificate’ from the notary. Again, you didn’t accept it. Finally, i brought the ‘legal heir certificate’ from the executive magistrate. Again, you have refused to accept it. Now you are asking me to bring a ‘legal heir certificate’ from a sub divisional officer (Sdo) or a district magistrate (Dm). I have been going to these people since last 3 months but they have clearly refused to offer me the certificate since this is not their job and they don’t know me personally.

Let me be very clear with you. The sub divisional officer (Sdo) and the district magistrate (Dm) are not my family members that they know me and will provide me with a ‘legal heir certificate’. Reliance life insurance knows this very well that i will never be able to get this certificate from a sdo or a dm. You are trying to play around with me. I have lost my father six months back. You as a company will never be able to understand what i and my family are going through at the moment.Instead of being compassionate, you are making me run from one office to the other every single day knowing that there is no end to it and also knowing very well that since i am in no position to pay the premiums anymore, you are just waiting for the day when i fail to pay my next premium and you can cancel my policy without paying me my due.

I have been getting emails from one of your executive named priti iyer asking me to provide legal heir certificate. However, she doesn’t mention that it should be specifically from a sdo or a dm. I am sure you know it very well that a sdo or a dm will never provide me with such a certificate until and unless they know me personally.

I want to tell reliance life insurance one thing very clearly. There is a limit to a person’s patience. The day i lose it, trust me, someone will regret.Instead of cheating me with my policy amount, i would appreciate if you could give me my due at the earliest.

I am sending you this email so that next time when i escalate this case to the highest level, i have a proof to stand by my statements. If i do not get a proper reply from you within next 24 hours, i will take it to the social media, consumer courts, media and the irda.

I do not expect you to be kind to me during this period of bereavement. I would however expect from you to not give me this trouble of getting my money back.
