Royal Enfield — Faulty shock-absorber is not covered on warranty | |||||
Dear royal enfield team, I bought a classic 350 from synergy (sakinaka, andheri) on 1st jan’16. this motorcycle is registered on 16th jan’16 as per the rc book. every royal enfield motorcycle comes with a warranty of 1 year by default and covers all kind of manufacturing defects which excludes rusting of parts & wear-tear of the same. during 4th service that happened on 3rd july’16, i specified that noise comes from the front shock absorbers when my bike goes from pot-hole or small speed breaker. this noise is very noticeable even on rough patches too. as per the mechanic at saki-naka service center the noise was due to loose spokes from the front rim. after getting the bike back from servicing the noise reduced but after a week the noise was clearly audible as it was before. this time i checked the same from couple of bullet mechanics locally and their verdict was that the sound comes from the front shock-absorber which occurs mostly due to improper assembly of shock-absorber. so, i went to saki-naka service center again and showed them my bike again. there is a guy (mr. uday) who is looking after the technical operations and warranty in saki naka center who told a mechanic to have a test-ride with my bike. the mechanic confirmed that noise do exist and immediately he had tightened the fork nut which didn’t solve the issue. Mr. uday told me that to fix this issue entire shock-absorber assembly needs to be opened and a part needs to be changed which definitely may have worn out. for which i need to pay rs.900 as that does not come under warranty. So my question is what comes under re’s warranty? there is definitely some issue with shock absorbers which the re mechanic from saki-naka center has also confirmed. after paying 1.5 lacs such a low grade service and replies we are getting and your after sales service is definitely turning out to be worst in the 2-wheeler segment. Please let me know whether you guys are capable to solve my issue or replace the faulty part. we customers buy royal enfield bikes because of its legacy of so many years. eicher (royal enfield) company, you are definitely loosing respect due to after sales service and manufacturing defects. if you have any respect towards your customer then comeback with a resolution.
