Sub:- Complaint regarding missed flight because Spice Jet failed to inform the change of flight timing
Ticket Ref: Booking Ref :X1GTQB, Date of Booking 19th May 2014, Date of travel: 29th Jul 2014. Reimbursment 29-Jul-14
I was booked on Spicejet Flight No.SG14/SG524 on 29 July 2014 DUBAI-MUMBAI-BANGALORE (ticket Itinerary attached) Departure time 4.50 am. When we arrived at Dubai Airport, we came to know that flight was advanced to 3.00 AM and we missed this flight. We were not informed about this change of timing by Spice jet.
Spice Jet supervisor admitted to us that it was a technical error he checked your system and ascertained that system failed to notify the Traveller about the reschedule of the flight. They proposed either to refund the ticket value (or) to reschedule the ticket for next day flight. Since I was travelling to Bangalore for an important function, I had no choice but to leave the same day.
In our frustration, waiting for 4 hours, negotiating with Spice jet officials with my family (2 small children, early morning hours), I got frustrated and went and met Duty officer at Dubai Airport. By the time, Spicejet staff had left the airport office !!
I contacted Emirates, confirmed 4 seats and then approached Spice Jet to endorse me into EK flight. Spice Jet staff refusd to endorse me in EK. Then I had no choice other than collect my ticket fare from Spice jet ( I got the old fare during I booked it 3 months earlier !!) Which is AED 2, 582/- and purchased EK flight at the current day rate of AED 5, 960/- (ticket itinerary and details are attached)

I am afrequest traveller in Spice jet for the last few years !!
I request you to compensate for my losses as follows :
1) The fare difference I paid for EK Ticket = AED 3, 378/-
2) Compensation for the trauma and misery for me and my family, due to negligence of your staff = AED. 5000 /-
3) Taxi Fares, Phone calls to even Spice jet India, Food = AED 1000 /-
In my past 3 years flying with Spice jet, this is the first time such a crucial 'negligence' and 'failure' from your company. Your airport staff was not at all cooperative and helpful.
Therefore. I will be lodging a complaint to the Dubai Airport Authority and submitting a letter to them officially too.
I look forward to your favourable action for a compensation within a week before Sept 28, 2014 or else I will take legal proceedings in India and send you soon a legal notice.
