Greetings! We had booked 5 tickets, on your plane to Chennai from Mumbai on the 28th of August (09:40 PM). As I arrived at the check in counter, to my surprise, your staff asked me to pay excess fare for 3 seats as the seats had been given to other passengers (apparently the flight was overbooked) and that they had already allotted the seats to someone else and didn't have economy seats. They were also willing to offer 2 complimentary seats (if i paid for the 3 priority seats)
Please note I did not find a single priority seat on your flight (including the first 2 rows)
I was informed that, this is your airline policy and that if I had to travel, I had to pay a sum of Rs 2400 in excess (which is some kind of an upgrade to premium economy, I guess) . As I was in a hurry, I made the purchase and later my co-passenger had to intervene and ask for a proper reasoning as to why we were charged, despite having paid for the tickets. None staff could not give us a proper answer and were fumbling and also agreed to refund the amount we paid.
Now, I want a detailed explanation as to why I was asked to pay as I am really disappointed with this kind of a treatment noting that I had purchased 5 tickets (altogether) on your airline, failing which I will take it to the next level,
