[Resolved]  Tata Docomo — Excess billing of Churn Out Fee of Rs 1650/-

I purchased a Tata Photon 3G connection ( number.-[protected], Account no[protected] on Mar 2014 under 5GB @ Rs.2500 quarterly annual rental plan initially. I got the connection disconnected 2nd Aug 2014 on which I asked the customer care representative that if there are any extra charges and I will not have to pay anything after that, the representative confirmed it. Afterwards I received a bill of Rs.1999( bill no -- [protected]) on 23rd Aug as the full and final settlement bill (via email), which included 1650 as churning out fee When asked the customer care again and they told me that as I have disconnected the connection before six months, I have to pay a churn out fee. Let me re-iterate that when I was purchasing the connection, the shopkeeper did not mention any churn out fee clause, also the pamphlets that were given to me did not contain any such *T&C. In addition to this, when I was disconnecting the connection the customer care representative never mentioned about any churn out fee associated with it even when I kept on asking them for any additional fees for disconnection during several interactions via phone and email. This is very unprofessional & shocking behavior by Tata Photon and it shows a lack of transparency in their dealings. It also shows how its representatives are hiding facts and misguiding the customer in order to extort additional money. I would request Tata Photon team look into this issue. As per our discussion over call, please be informed if any photon connection is disconnected before Six months of the activation then in time of deactivation there is an additional fee of Rs.1650 adds up to the bill.

We would like to inform you the extra charge in your bill is the Churn Out Fee for Six months. The activation date for your photon connection was 28th March 2014 and the disconnection date was 9th August 2014. Hence the connection was active for less than Six months which caused the Churn Out Fee to be with the final bill.
