Tata Docomo — Slowness beyond usability | |||
Hi, I had purchased Tata DoCoMo Photon Plus USB dongle 7th July 2014 and have been battling with speed issues. Their minimum speed is advertised as 512 Kbps and maximum as 60 Mbps. So an average speed assumed to be well between 20-30 Mbps. I know that in India such speeds are never realised. I expect at-least 1 MBps. But it is merely 512 Kbps which is not fulfilling my expectations. I need at-least 1 MBps which I made clear, at the time of purchase to the retailer and he promised that it will provide such speed. My details of the purchase below... ========================= Product: Tata Photon Max Dongle / WiFi Data Card, Price: Rs. 1500 /- Pack: Rs. 999 / - per month POSTPAID. Photon Number: [protected] Date Of Purchase: 7/7/2014 Store of Purchase: Tata DoCoMo Store, Borivali West, S. V. Road, Mumbai. User Complaint : Slowness beyond usability. DoCoMo Complaint Date: 13/07/2014. DoCoMo Complaint Request No. :[protected]. DoCoMo Complaint Status: Resolved from DoCoMo with response that "number o[censored]sers in your area are high and hence you will always have issue getting more speed (more that the minimum we promised)" I took this device for my office use where I need to connect to my office machine over remote connection. This demands minimum 1 MBps speed. So disappointed with the slowness, I called Tata Photon DoCoMo customer care expecting some improvement in service.. Only to hear the response that "Number of DoCoMo users in your area are high and hence you will always have issue getting more that the minimum speed we promised"... (these are their exact words!!!) I am feeling angry, disappointed & cheated now because if you are selling a dongle at Rs. 1500 /- and a pack of Rs. 999 /- advertised as "Wifi Data Card" with "Superior Modem Speeds" and on back cover if you claim "High speed Internet Access" you are cheating the consumer with false promises. I have not purchased a device & service totally of Rs. 2500/- to just TEST the speed and stay content with the fact that my area has so many "satisfied" photon users that all o[censored]s get a penny of service & speed for thousands of rupees I pay. I condemn this forgery and loot and expect my total dongle money back. Fortunately I purchased a post paid connection and hence will be getting a bill by 2nd of next month which I am not going to pay!
