Tata Sky — Unfair Practices

Dear Sir/Madam, My Tata Sky subscriber id is [protected]. On[protected] my brother has done a top-up of Rs.2600 to our Tata Sky account as our account base pack was expired on[protected] and activated ALC basic pack. Due to some channels were missing, on[protected] I talked to one of the Tata Sky customer care executive for change of base package. Here is the detail communication between me & the Tata Sky executive: Me: "Can I change my current base pack to Dhamaal Cricket pack if there is no issues with that". Tata Sky Executive: "Sir you can change your account base pack as many times as you want but, Dhamaal Cricket Pack is not available anymore instead of that as you are our old customer we have two great Dhamaal Mix Pack available @ Rs. 2300 annualy and Supreme Sports pack (without kids channels) @ Rs.2700/- annualy. Which would you like to go for ?" Me: "Please activate Dhamaal Mix Pack" All the channels in the Dhamaal Mix Pack were same as it were in our last year base pack but, Cricket channel "Star Sports 3" was missing. So, on[protected] again I called Tata sky customer care and asked them to change the base pack to Supreme Sports pack (without kids channels) which is available at Rs.2700/- annualy and also mention that this is the offer price which was offered to me by one of your customer care executive. The executive asked me to recharge my account with Rs.150 as Rs.140 was sorting in changing the base pack to Supreme Sports pack. So, I recharged my account with Rs.150 on[protected]. After recharging, I called Tata sky and asked them to change my base pack to Supreme Sports pack. The base pack was changed but they deducted Rs. 2536.14/- for a single month (i.e. for December-2014). I got to know about this issue when I checked my account statement of december-2014 month. After number of calls they returned back Rs.1929/- in my tata sky account but deducted Rs.395/- on[protected], saying that they have charged it for changing the base pack. At the time of changing the base pack they have not told us about these extra charges. But now they are saying that they have informed us about this. This is totally unfair practices of Tata Sky company: 1. If they have to charge for changing the base pack why they have charged so late (after almost 45 days). In the monthly statement of december-2014 generated on 1-Jan-2015, they have not mentioned thse charges (Rs.395). 2. Why Tata Sky deducted Rs.2536.14 from my account and refunded back partial amount. 3. They charged Rs. 290/- for Supreme Sports pack which is mothly basis pack charges. But in my case it should be 225/- per month as they offered me Supreme Sports pack @ 2700/- annualy. I have applied for Supreme Sports yearly package (Rs.2700/-) but getting charge on Monthly package rate (Rs.290/-). For changing the base package I called the customer care and got the information on Supreme Sports yearly package (Rs.2700/-). But as I was having around Rs.2560/- present in my account that time So, was told to recharge my account with Rs.150/- for changing the base pack to Supreme Sports yearly package (Rs.2700/-). I done the same and call back the customer care for changing the base pack. They changed the base pack but on Monthly basis that too on higher charges (Rs.290/- a month). If customer get benefits on yearly basis package recharge and have sufficient funds in account then why would he/she will go for Monthly basis package.

And also got charged for changing the base pack i.e. Rs.395 which was not told by customer care executive at the time of changing the base pack.

Please find the attached screen shot of chat history in which Tata Sky representative has mentioned Rs.2700/- for yearly package.
