[Resolved] Trai — Unlawful collection of charges by AIRTEL | |||
My mobile telephone [protected] suddenly became non functional when I was away on a visit to Bangalore. The NOKIO service centre confirmed that there is no fault in the equipment and desired I should refer to service provided AIRTEL. Their service centre at Koramangala, Bangalore confirmed that the SIM card is not working and they cannot replace it and I have to report this only at Chennai where the connection was given ( despite the fact that AIRTEL is an all India company, operating at nook and corner of India). On my return today from Bangalore I reported at AIRTEL, Santhome who also confirmed that the SIM card, issued to me in 2008 has worn out and they will replace it with a new one, continuing with the same number. To get this new SIM card, they compelled me to produce my identity card ( Driving Licence and the PAN Card and also taken a photo of mine with their mobile phone. They have also charged me Rs 25/ for the new SIM card issued to me. My complaint is: as an old customer from 2008, why should I be subjected for proving my identity. Why I should be charged Rs 25 for issue of new SIM card as I have not caused any fault in the old SIM which has worn out on its own. I would appeal to you to kindly take up this matter with AIRTEL and address my grievence. Was this information helpful? | |||
