[Resolved]  Sony India — Very Poor Service

I would like to bring to your notice my disappointment on the utterly unprofessional way in which your service department has handled a service complaint on my Sony LED TV.

I purchased a Sony LED (Model KLV-32EX330), in November 2012 from one of the reputed electronics showrooms, Tirumala Music Center, Hyderabad (L. B. Nagar).

For the past 25 plus days I am facing some issue with the LED TV. The input mode changes by itself from Video 1 to Video 2, or PC, or HMDI, or TV option. This apart, the TV gets switched off on its own and automatically gets on within few seconds. This problem is so severe that the input would get switched to different modes every 2 minutes or the power getting off and on. When contacted with the Customer Care on June 10, 2013, I was advised by the customer care guy to reset the restore settings and that would solve the problem. However, the problem persisted whereupon I again raised the issue with the Customer Care.

The service techniciain visited my place on June 13, 2013 (I do not remember this name, but his mobile number is [protected]). He visited my place and also said it is not a major issue and he again did the "reset restore settings". However, he also said that there could be some frequency issue, which could be resolved after fixing an Adapter/antenna, which would be provided by Sony free of cost since the Unit is under Warranty. He took a Xerox copy of the bill and the Warranty certificate and assured us that he would come back in 4 days with the Adapter/antenna.

Till Date nothing has been heard on this issue. I have called the customer care department couple of times and the only two things that I hear from them is a "sorry for the inconvenience" and "somebody will definitely get back to you by the end of the day". However, there has been no help from the service department; even the technician who visited my place was not responding to my calls. When I asked the Customer Care Supervisor, one Mr. Syed as to who would be liable if the unit is further damaged by frequent power on and offs issue and the input switching issue, he categorically stated that Sony would be liable since they the delay is from their side to rectify the problem. He also requested me to wait for couple of days assuring me that he would help me out, but I was disappointed, or rather I guess he had his limitations to address my issue.

Today, I am very upset and demotivated with the way my complaint is being handled, in short NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE IN THESE 15 DAYS. I would therefore like to know if you can help me in this issue genuinely without giving my false committments. If it is not possible to handle this problem and if complacency or take-for-granted attitude has become the new rule for this organization, then we customers have no way left but to bring such irresponsible handlings in public domain. I have very high regards towards this Company and I would like to put my faith on yourself that you will immediately do something and make sure that my problem is resolved once for all. Enough of apologies and false assurances please.

not poor...service is very poor...
Pathetic service provided by Sony
I was facing some dead pixels issues with the phone. I went to the
kutchery road service center (Meerut )on 25 sep 14 to get it checked and
i was told that there are some dead pixels in the handset and it needs
to be replaced. Now it has been 26 days already and i have not got my
phone back. Few days ago i was shown a refurbished phone which was to be
given to me but as the same was not in working condition same had to be
replaced again. I do not understand why am I being offered a
refurbished phone. Either you guys should repair my own phone or if you
cant repair my phone then give me a new one. Why would i use a
disfunctional phone which was used by someone else. I did not spend
36000 INR just for using a second hand phone. After 26 days i am still
waiting for my z1 in these 26 days more than 20 times i contacted to
customer support team through emails or phone calls.

I am getting tired of making follow ups if you guys cannot repair my
handset then please provide me a new one, if you can not give me a new
handset than give me my money back. I might as well buy an apple iphone
atleast they are committed to their customers and provide them the best
service possible. They are not like sony who would go on handing over
refurbished phones to their customers. . If you cannot provide services
to your loyal customers like me I am sorry to say but I would have to
end my loyalties towards sony.
