I booked my flat in Feb 2012 in Uniworld city, Cascades, Kolkata.
I was promised that the possession would be handed over by Aug 2014 and same was mentioned in the Buyer's Agreement. I, too, believed in it as the tower's brick work and external plastering was already done at that time (and it was already a very delayed project). Like an ordinary citizen, I believed that everything would be easily completed in next 2.5 years and I would get timely possession of my flat. After that, I kept on paying the installments, frankly giving my hard earned money to them with a dream of having my flat by Aug' 2014. I paid all the installments by Dec' 2013 except 5%, the one to be given at the time of possession.
But, my dreams were shattered when I was told by them in July 2014, after enquiring about the status of flat, that the possession would be delayed more to 16-20 months. Again in March 2015, they told of further delay in possession to 2 more years. Moreover, they have never intimated of the status of flat, rather have been delaying the possession every now and then. The reality is that there has been no progress in last 3 years and still the status is same with brick work and external plastering being done.
I am just fed up where my hard earned money (almost 90 lacs) is lying with them and I am not able to get the flat. I need a suitable compensation for the delay in possession of the flat. Was this information helpful? |
