[Resolved] Videocon — Overcharging for dish installation | |||
I was told by Videocon at the time of booking their dish that installation charge is included in my subscription. However, at the time of installation, I was charged Rs 5336/- for installation. On my insistence, the details of the break-up were handwritten on the service report, but in illegible handwriting. No separate bill or receipt was issued. I wrote a mail to Videocon asking the following questions: 1. Is installation charge a secret that is not to be revealed till after all subscription payments are made? 2. I live 6 floors below the terrace of my building. Presuming a liberal height of 3 meters (12 feet) per floor (most homes in Mumbai are just over 2 meters high), the distance from terrace to home should not be more than 20 meters. I was charged for 118 extra meters (over and above their free cable length) @ Rs 12 per meter. 3. The rest of the items listed on the CAF are not legible, so I don't know what the break-up for the balance Rs 3950 is. 4. Why is there no complaint address available on the Videocon website (except for set-top box Customer Care)? In reply to my email complaint, I received a cash-back of approx.
