Xuv 500 — engine seized and sensor failure

Address:627756

My problem is, on 28th of september, when i was driving my xuv 500, just around 25 km away from my home, suddenly smoke came from under the hood of my car and engine also suddenly stopped in the middle of the road. No warning voice came and there is no overheat light came in instrument cluster. And steering also became hard after sudden shutdown of the car, so with difficulty i managed to stop the car towards the side of the road. And i called for mahindra road side assistance, they have taken the car to tirunelveli service centre. There it was said that they can not work with this new car, again car was taken to tvs mahindra madurai, in that service centre they said engine was seized due to over heating due to leakage of coolant. Tvs mahindra service manager and gm said they will change the defective engine and give the car back. I explained them that the basic problem was not from the engine. According to me, the engine seized maybe due to over heating. But the sensor to detect heat of the engine had failed first, so that we didn’t get any warning light increasing in instrument cluster and no voice warning also came. Then as it is a 2month old new xuv and only 4300km done, in this case why coolant leakage happened??? I asked the same question to service manager. He said that because of the coolant tube bulge, that leakage happened. I asked the service manager to give in written what ever he told me but he refused to give the same. And service manager and gm were refusing to accept that, when i said no warning came from the car. As i was the one who was driving the car at that time, and this car is not my first xuv to say that i don’t know about warnings (This is our 3rd xuv). I told them what i experienced during that incident, but they were not ready to accept. And i requested them to replace this car with a new car and not the engine alone. But they were saying it was not possible to do so. But the real problem is not only from engine.

(1st fault was coolant leakage, 2nd fault was failure of the car’s sensor system and warning system, and the 3rd fault was that the engine seized due to overheat.)

Due to sensor failure, anything can happen in this car. It may be harmful for passengers life.
