This is the first time we are undergoing a full body checkup (along with my husband) in our early thirties. I paid Rs.1600 (excluding GST) for each o[censored]s at Aarthi scans and lab, Porur branch. It was my worst ever experience being myself a Doctor.
Apart from the Blood tests and urine test, our main focus was on X-ray, ECG and Ultrasound (Abdomen and Pelvis).
1. X-Ray - The clothes they gave us to change for undergoing x-ray was previously used by many number of patients. It was utterly unhygienic and placed like a trash in the change room You can definitely pick up an infection.
2. ECG - Atleast here, disposable sheets were used over the examination table. This was fine when compared to the other two areas.
3. Ultrasound - This was the very worst part. Firstly, the staff issued tokens orally to every incoming patient. There were about 45+ patients for that half working day. They were going on informing tokens orally without having the sense of time management of how long would it take to attend a single patient in a given time. No token display was available for patients. They will make you to wait for undue amount of time both for the procedure and as well as for getting the report which is highly pathetic.
Secondly, the attendants were running here and there calling out patient's name and ordering to sit here and there without properly managing the patients.
Thirdly, the examination bed for ultrasound was torn out and damaged. Patients were made to lie down on the same bed one after another without cleaning it nor did they use a disposable sheet. Fourthly, this was the very worst part. Highly insensitive, rude behaviour and attitude by Dr.G.Jyothi. She never had the patience right from positioning the patient for ultrasound till finishing. She did not even have the ethics of giving a heads up to me on what she is about to perform, may it be a transvaginal amidst the chaos of positioning me for ultrasound. She never made me comfortable and relaxed while the procedure and rushed through the transvaginal before even I got into my senses of what was going on around me. She was very insensitive and grouchy with frequent sulking behaviour (this happened with my husband too). She did not even care to explain the status of the underlying medical condition even after me asking about the same if there was any issue. I never expected this attitude from a doctor. I am definitely not consulting her in future in my lifetime.
I have paid an overall amount of Rs.3250 for the entire process and I did not sign up to be treated like as if I have come for a free health camp.
I don't know on what basis the reviews in Google shows upto 4.6 rating. But it's definitely not worth it for an NABL & NABH accredited lab whose condition and maintenance is highly questionable and pathetic. After enduring such a mental trauma, a commoner doesn't deserve to be treated this way. My husband has already mentioned the grievances to the customer care and their reply of rectifying the situation is highly questionable and not reliable.
I would never recommend Aarthi scans and lab (their staff, management and doctors) to anyone who is in need at anytime.
