Cleartrip Cashback — No cashback from cleartrip

Cleartrip advertised visa money back on their site. However, on booking the tickets I got no cash back. On contacting the customer care, I was informed I was required to use a coupon code during the payment process and all the details on this was available on a web link.

Cleartrip is fooling the web users by using wrong statements. Technically what they are referring to is discount, not a cash back. Cash back is money refunded after making the purchase at original price, while discount is deduction before the payment. I went with the international understanding of 'cash back' and lost money in the process as it did n't match with their definition.

I would thus not advice anyone to use cleartrip s their preferred travel agent.
