As I find no response from anybody on this and I have since checked further and still not found the item on any restricted list, I would like to add here, I was travelling alone and I have a faint inkling that I was chosen for harassment as I was a single working woman travelling alone, though I decided not to create a scene precisely because I was alone. Did the airport security team consisting of a woman and two men decide that I would be an easy target to harass? Is this how you encourage women to travel alone in India? Please provide me a satisfactory reply asap as I feel I do deserve one.

In case there is some other authority I can complain to regarding this I would appreciate if I got that information at least from here. I do not wish some other working woman travelling alone to be put through this kind of harassment. For that I am ready to go to any length. Shame on the indian army security team which did this.
I am saddened to find there is still no response to this complaint of mine. If anyone would be kind enough to post a copy of the new rules (as informed by the Indian army security team that searched my hand baggage, both measuring ribbons and cellotapes have now been added to restricted list), I would love to stand corrected. Please know for sure I remember the faces of every single member of that security team though two of the three were wearing masks and would have no problem in identifying them in real life.
