Port Request submitted - 27th July at 8 pm to Airtel field executive - Nitin - [protected] - He filled out the form, took my Aadhar card scan, my thumb print, alternative number, my Airtel new sim's number etc.

Call from Airtel Supervisor in Hyderabad - Sahara Estate, L B Nagar area - Narendra Kumar - [protected] - he called to check that my Aadhar card showed that I have more than 5 connections in my name - when I refused any knowledge and told him that this was false information - he than said he will rectify this error. and he told me that the request will be sorted in 7 working days.
10th Aug - I called Narendra Kumar again to understand the portability progress and he said there was some issue and asked me to call Imtiaz as he was traveling to Vizag. I called Imtiaz - [protected]. He said it should happen in two days.
I called again on 11th night to understand the progress as it was the last day of porting number validity. and I told them that I do not want to do porting to Airtel as they displayed very unprofessional behaviour. Their senior talked to me and said that the porting is delayed from TRAI and will happen in 24 hours.
On 12th Aug I make payment to my current service provider - Vodafone. As soon as my bill is paid, I get a message that my porting will initiate on 12th Aug at 23:30 hours.
At night, my Vodafone number goes out of service. I insert Airtel sim and after that since midnight of 12th Aug I have no service on my sim.
After repeated frantic calls to Airtel - Imtiaz, Narendra Kumar and Airtel Helpline, no one is able to solve the issue. No one is able to identify the issue. They just make me repeat the procedure of switching of cell, insert sim, switch on cell, only to find no network. After my 20th call, they tell me, it's a Sunday and porting request is still under process and it will happen on Monday after 12 noon. So which means a customer will have to be without network for 24-36 hours, whereas the usual waiting period is 4 hours only.
They still don't know what is wrong. Sometimes they say, TRAI hasn't approved, sometimes they say network issue is there, sometimes they say porting request is progressing. No concrete answer. My point is that all messages that came was from Airtel. Vodafone sent a message that my request was successful. After that Airtel sent me message that porting will initiate on 12th Aug midnight. So why then I have to suffer no connectivity/no network at the hands of their negligence.
This is unacceptable. MNP is a big joke and Airtel executives are highly unprofessional. They do not respond or tackle problems with adequate professionalism.
Airtel customer support has been notified about the posted complaint.
