I had obtained an airtel postpaid connection at the end of march 2020. I pay the bill online. I had already paid the bill for may 2020 on 23rd may 2020, and the amount has been debited from my account.
I received many messages from airtel that i had not paid the bill for may 2020. I sent several emails stating that the bill had been paid and the amount debited from my bank account. Then i got a message stating on 6th june 2020 about disruption of service, that the connection has been cut off for non-payment of dues.
I registered a complaint with the nodal officer in chennai. I received a phone call at 11.30 am this morning from no. [protected] about my complaint. A person inquired whether i had paid last month's bill and the date of payment. I said i had paid the previous bill on[protected]. He then said that he will get back to me. I am now unable to get through to this number.
However, i was shocked to receive this email this afternoon with last month's charges plus late payment charges and this month's bill totalling rs. 1295.64.
I have been trying to contact airtel to register a complaint. Not possible at all. Most of their numbers don't work or there is no venue for registering a complaint. There is no response to mail messages either. I am trying to terminate the connection, with little success
Airtel customer support has been notified about the posted complaint.
