My name is vinay residing in ullal upanagar, bangalore - 560110. I am
Complaining on behalf of all residents near my home.
With reference to the above subject, i request the officials to stop
The installation of airtel mobile network tower which is being
Installed opposite to my home. This area is full of residential homes
And we already have enough towers near our home which are helping in
Better network coverage.
Installation of this tower will lead to many health problems to the
Nearby residents of this tower, as there are many childrens, old age
People and 3 schools located nearby.
Near our home everyone (More than 50 home) is opposing the
Installation of this above said tower, this clearly shows that the
Installation of this tower is not required for anyone or it is not in
The interest of our public.
No one is hearing about our concern, so i kindly request you to look
Into this matter urgently and kindly stop the installation of this
Tower.

This phenomenon is making it easier for people to rely on their cell phones for much more than just making phone calls. Telecommunication companies are experiencing large-scale changes to their industry and the world as we know it. Millions of people worldwide now have access to a globally connected network—aka the internet. This has created digital inclusion around the world. New opportunities are changing the way consumers and companies interact online. In the midst of this change, telecom companies are working diligently to handle changing customer expectations. Customers now expect more innovative services that are convenient and easy to use. Telecom companies are decreasing their margins, increasing competition and actively looking for ways to stay relevant and profitable. In the digital age, the world is becoming more and more global. Personal, consumer and business transactions are occurring across countries and across the planet daily. These interactions are happening in real time and with less and less face-to-face contact.

    Fraud in the Changing Digital Environment:

    But Telecom Companies in India are not taking all these vital risks associated with verification of KYC Documents seriously. I would say they just don’t care. Because I had applied for some Mobile Connections with my Electoral Voter Identity Card is GZH2184589. Got the connections activated and using it currently. But later I found that my Electoral Voter card number was wrongly issued to me with No. GZH2184589 instead of my actual Electoral Voter Card No. GZH0027788. The wrong Electoral Card No GZH2184589 actual belongs to UJJAL BAL. It’s a strange that Telecom Companies till date DID NOT found out the ERROR/MISMATCH in my submitted Electoral Voter Card. So it’s clear that they DO NOT CROSS VERIFY any document with issuing authority which can put the country’s SECURITY AND INTEGRITY at SERIOUS RISKS. THIS IS A SERIOUS LOOPHOLE IN THE SYSTEMS.

    As technology advances, global information continues to flow at an increasing rate. This is creating new risk for data privacy, fraud protection and security. Criminals often use fabricated identities to secure telecom services. This type of telecom fraud involves identity theft or the use of fabricated identities during onboarding. This enables criminals to use telecom services such TV, internet services, mobile banking, virtual wallets, and other high-value services for more fraudulent applications. Regulators are becoming increasingly interested in the telecom industry to help fight against nefarious use of mobile devices for terrorist attacks or other criminal activities.

    Leave my case now and assume someone with criminal or with terrorist mindset gets any connections by submitting fabricated identities to secure telecom services. AS USUAL THE TELECOM COMPANIES WILL NOT CROSS VERIFY THE SUBMITTED KYC DOCUMENTS WITH THE ISSUING AUTHORITY AND GUESS WHAT IT COULD BE A DISASTER FOR THE NATION.

    1.      WHY TRAI HAVE NOT IMPLEMENTED MANDATORY KYC VERIFICATIONS?

    2.      IF IMPLEMENTED WHY THE SAME IS NOT BEING STRICTLY FOLLOWED BY ALL TELECOM COMPANIES?

    3.      THERE SHOULD NOT BE ONLY SAMPLE VERIFICATIONS ONLY. THE CHECKING SHOULD NOT ONLY BE DONE ON ANY PERIODICALLY ONLY. TELECOM COMPANIES SHOULD AUTHENTICATE ALL THE KYC DOCUMENTS FOR ALL NEW CUSTOMER AND EXISTING CUSTOMER’S WITH ALL THE ISSUING AUTHORITIES AND THEN ONLY SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO ENJOY UNINTERUPTED SERVICES WITH TELECOM COMPANIES. EACH AND EVERY CUSTOMERS DETAILS SHOULD BE THOROUGHLY CHECKED AND CROSS VERIFIED. NO COMPROMISE SHOULD BE ON THIS. THERE SHOULD NOT BE ANY LAPS.

    4.      AN ONLINE DATABASE SHOULD BE AVAILABLE TO CROSS VERIFY ALL THE SUBMITTED KYC DOCUMENTS.

    Managing fraud can be a daunting task. Legislation often requires monitoring, auditing, collecting and reporting requirements on specific entities. Regulating entities must coordinate these efforts into a fraud-prevention plan. Plus, regulations change, fraud associates must work proactively to comply and protect the companies they work for. Fraud increases have caused a significant monetary burden for the financial institutions associated with the crimes being committed. It has also led to the exploitation of ineffective fraud rules and regulations. In order to face these challenges, businesses must take steps to create robust fraud and risk management standards. Companies need to proactively prevent litigation or fines. They should find real value in the processes of complying with regulations. To actively and effectively fight fraud, cost-value of products that may decrease fraud like identity verification must be added back to fraud prevention schemes. Employees must understand why maintaining these programs are important beyond simply avoiding regulatory fines. It is in company’s best interest to do everything possible to fight and prevent fraud before it can occur.

    The global business climate is rapidly changing, causing compliance and fraud issues to become more complex as well. Many organizations are under the impression that their fraud compliance standards are good enough, yet this is most likely not the case. Companies must update their spending policies as new security threats are detected. This is how businesses need to work to actively to prevent fraud. Criminal fraud involves deceit or dishonest conduct to obtain money or other benefits. Globalization and technological advances have opened the door to massive amounts of criminal fraud. This is because the internet has allowed for the growth of customer not present business interactions. The digital transformation has increased the chance of identity fraud through the theft of personally identifiable information. With this information, criminals can perform account takeovers or open new fraudulent accounts. Today, identity fraud is the fastest growing crime activity on the planet. Few other industries are as competitive as telecom. With a relentless drive to acquire more customers and market share, fraud detection and management is often an afterthought. This tactic is dangerous, because identity fraud can cost telecom companies huge sums of money – and expose them to large amounts of risks.

    KYC processes are a key component for monitoring customer risk.

    The telecom provider must be confident that new and existing users are actually who they say they are. Performing a KYC check during onboarding is great but it is not the only time a KYC check should occur. KYC checks should take place throughout the time a customer account is active. This will give businesses the opportunity to continually assess whether they are doing business with nefarious characters or not. Identity theft is a threat for many people this day and age. This means it is possible for criminals to be using legitimate customer information to access and create accounts online. To deter this from happening, having a system in place to know your customer before they sign up for an account is essential. This allows a business to know more about who they are doing business with before the business relationship even starts.

    Customer Identification Program (CIP) requires that individuals who conduct financial transactions must have their identities verified. It is aimed at preventing money laundering, terrorism financing, corruption and other illegal financial activities from happening. CIP requires all financial institutions to get to know their potential customers and assess their risk level during the onboarding process.

    Hope with this letter Government of India, Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) and all other Telecom Companies takes effective steps to SAFEGUARD the interest of the nation.

      I cant able to send any sms until last 3 months, raised complaint even it was more than a sla still nothing happening. The worst customer service i a have seen so far is airtel as a post paid customer. Raised complaint on 18th march but at last day of sla they called and said your sim from up circle but your in tamilnadu so transferring to tm team, now from tm circle they are telling this issue from up circle so transferring to them - playing a pass ball. Now being as a furrustating customer i will not pay my current month bill. Without the service provided why should i? If the any fine raised for that or still if service not provided to me will raise a complaint on consumer court under act 1986 for not providing a worthy service to customer.

        I’ve been getting an error 4 on my all connections and i cant access hd channels.
        I had called airtel 4 times and wanted to talk to costumer support and was put on hold all 4 times for 15 goddamn minutes! This is highly unprofessional, i’d opt out of this ridiculous service as soon as i exhaust my recharges.
        Get the problem solved atleast for now.

          I have ported out my two numbers ([protected] & [protected]) into airtel postpaid and as confirmed by airtel i'll be getting 500 + 500 mins local & std call free and 5 gb 4g data every month for 12 bill cycles in rs.99 plan. This plan started on january'19. However in the month of feb'19 a customer care executive suddenly converted the basis data of 150mb to sms and for this my 5gb special data service got deactivated. Later it is identified that the executive did not know that basis data of 150 mb must be active to have benefit of 5gb special data. It was not my fault that the customer care did not have such information. Later nodal agreed this point and confirm the service has been re-activated on 20-mar-2019. However the service (For 5gb 4g data) still not active in my plan for both of this number and i am continuously following up them with no response. Please take care to resolve this.

                          My airtel dth is not showing all the channels since last week. I am unable to contact customer care. If it gets connected by chance they are saying technical error has occured, please call after some time. Such disgusting services by airtel dth. I am paying hell lot of money to watch all channels in my tv and what i am getting is nothing. Since the day plans changed as per new trai they are charging lot and even then they are not giving all the channels.

                            I have ported from airtel tamilnadu to airtel andhra pradesh circle. My new sim got signal but i'm not able to activate it. Even customer care service is not that helpful.
                            Here's the number i ported [protected]. I am on a vacation and couldn't reach out to anyone because of this issue.
                            I am not able to reach to any airtel customer care now.
                            So, please help me with this as it's causing lot of trouble.

                              I am selecting channel from TV and sending QR code to respective numbers, but after some time getting a message that your request can not be processed,
                              I tried two times once at night of 22-Mar--2019 and once at next morning at 23-Mar-2019.

                              Both the time its deducts 1.5 rs for each message.
                              When I talk to customer care one says due to server error request can not processed please try once again and then I talked again then they says selection of channel from TV is not working.

                              I can't understand what kind of policies followed by Airtel, while selecting channel from websites its shows much higher rate as compare to rates available in TV.

                              Before this, I am able to view my channels in around 229 Rs/Month but now for the same I required to pay 400+ rs.

                              Airtel should be transparent why they misleading, If I am selecting channels from TV getting 329 rs / month but they are not processing the request while selecting channels from website its costs 405 rs / month and they activate this package in fraction of seconds.

                                My self is jay singh chib. I have some issues in airtel sim. For regarding this i visited at my nearest airtel store which was located in akhnoor manda road, hanuman chowk, jammu. For regarding my issue i convey to airtel store. And given the my request to airtel store. And they are proceed my request in aiirtel digital process. And submit my all document. And he commitment to me that your old sim will stop after 4 to 5 hrs. And you will put new sim in your device. And after 24hrs. Your new sim services resumes automatically. And all this process he charged to me 30 rs. Instead of 25 rs. And the behaviour of this type of person is not good for airtel customer. And i think for all this issue he will not process my request further. But after 24 hrs. Upto they will still not process my request in further process. I also talk with customer care but i cant get any satisfied reply against from him.

                                  Really shame on you people for disturbing the customers. Now once again you people are disturbing the customers. Now I want to make a recharge of Rs. 35/- from my main balance and the option is not coming. Earlier the option was coming but now you peole become bull [censored] hungry fellows who don't have guts to earn your income and become greedy beggars by looting the customers every month or every 28 days. Really shame on you greedy hungry fellows who don't have self respect and respect for the customers. You people are such type of low mentality people that you forcibly deduct Rs. 23/- from the customers balance without taking their consent. This type of attitude is shown by fraud and beggars which you are become fully. It's better for you people to leave the job and take one big katora and sit on the roads for begging so that ongoing people will give you beg as you are the greedy hungry fraud beggars to loot the customers. If you people have little bit self respect and respect for the customers then reply with the USSD code for recharging the Rs 35/- from main balance instead of forcibly deducting Rs. 23/- without taking the consent from the customers. Shame on you greedy hungry people for showing such nasty attitude and behaviour towards the customers.

                                    I did two recharges (INR 296 and INR 1499) to activate my international roaming for Australia on the date 21 March 2019 and today is 23rd and it is still not working.
                                    I called customer care and they asked me to do restart and did all the troubleshooting on 23rd march but all was in vain and when i asked for my refund or add value if they are not able to refund they declined.

                                    I am raising this complain so that I can get justice and get my money back.

                                        But the transaction has failed...
                                        I retried and got the recharge done... But unfortunately they have deducted rs. 399 two times by including the failed transaction...

                                        Along with a transaction ID...
                                        Please take necessary actions to refund the wrongly desucted amount...
