Dear sir/madam,
I want to highlight this issue regarding misleading and fraud sale of set top box by the airtel dth dealer. I have called airtel digital customer care at least 15 times in last couple of months but i haven't got any resolution. This email is my last hope. If issue is not resolved i will consider that i lost 5000 rupees and change my connection to tatasky.
The issue:
I had taken new dth connection last year.
My customer id was: [protected]-001
My name: arjun
My plan: infinity hd
When 1 year got completed, i received a call from airtel dealer from this number[protected]
The girl operator said that because one year of my set top box is complete, i will have to change it. I asked why. She said, because it is airtel policy that after one year you have to change the set top box.
I said: but i am about to recharge for infinity plan online.
She said, please don't make any recharge online, because we will give you a discount if you pay in cash.
She said in 5000 you will get a new set top box and same infinity plan.
The next day the engineer (Sonu, contact number: [protected]) came and replaced the box and took 5000 from me.
After a couple of days, i realised the activated plan is not infinity, but some cheaper plan. So many channels were missing.
I also noticed, set top box is not on my name. And my registered number is also not there.

So they sold me someone else's used set top box and old plan of someone else.
I called the dealer at least 20 times to resolve the issue, and activate infinity plan, but they kept lying about one thing or another.
I realized they have cheated me.
I contacted the customer care and mentioned this issue at least 10 times, but the issue has not been resolved. They close the request without any resolution. I can mention at least three request numbers i had raised.
