[Resolved]  American Express Packers And Movers — Scam & fraud alert - hidden charges loot

Guys, mind you, this is a biggest scamming company.
This is my story:
I called AMEX packers for shifting purpose and their executive Dinesh came for inspection, had a good look around my 3BHK house & quoted Rs.13500 for complete shifting to my 4BHK house which is located 8 kms away. I felt it was reasonable enough and gave a go ahead.
Their people came on time the next day at 3 pm with 17ft truck, packed all the items properly in their own carton boxes.

Now the bomb drop starts;
BOOM 1 - You have to pay security deposit of Rs.80 for one carton box and once you unload all the items, call us, we will pick the boxes and refund the amount (This was never informed when the inspection happened). I negotiated Rs.70 per box & paid Rs.3640 for 52 boxes.

BOOM 2 - The 17ft truck storage fell short & the loading guys said they have to do two trips. As it was already post 2 am and would be time consuming in unloading the truck, come back again and load the left over items, I booked two Tata ACE (One on the same day for packed items, the other on the next day for my dead bike & son's bicycle) via Porter and paid Rs.1050 out of my pocket - A big miss/forced move from their inspection executive.

After loading all the items, both the truck and ACE arrived at my new house around 3 am and all the items were unloaded and it took around 4 hours to complete unloading stuff.

BOOM 3 - After completion, guys there demanded Rs.5000 TIPS which was a shocker. However, because of the efforts that they put in and worked tirelessly for around 14-15 hours that too in the whole night, I gave them Rs.2500.

And then, it took around 3-4 days for us to settle in our new house. After unloading all the boxes, I called their executive Dinesh and asked him to send guys to collect the boxes and do my refund. He said it will take 3 days to arrange pickup and the refund will be given immediately post that.

I waited 3 days, nobody came, called him again and he gave pickup guy's number, followed up with him and he arrived the next day. Unfortunately, we had only 51 boxes (Blame on me for miscounting). Boxes were collected back and the guy told that the refund of Rs.3570 (51x70) will be initiated from the company's end. I waited again for a day, no refund came.

BOOM 4 - Followed up with executive the next day. He immediately refunded Rs.3070 and guess what Rs.500 DIESEL CHARGES FOR PICKUP (NEVER EVER INFORMED)

I questioned him and he immediately disconnected the call and then no reply for messages or calls.

This was my whole story and a good lesson learnt.

Their business is not transparent and they will rip you with all the hidden charges and be ready to pay at least 7-10k extra from what they quote.
Apart from paying extra, you also have to deal with mental trauma, N no. of callings and followups.

This company is a big NO for shifting purpose and thankfully my shifting was only within a few kms. I have seen people complaining about damaged furnitures and other valuable things in inter-city shifting.

Be careful with such cheating and looting people/company.
