American Express Packers And Movers Complaints & Reviews

Guys, mind you, this is a biggest scamming company.
This is my story:
I called AMEX packers for shifting purpose and their executive Dinesh came for inspection, had a good look around my 3BHK house & quoted Rs.13500 for complete shifting to my 4BHK house which is located 8 kms away. I felt it was reasonable enough and gave a go ahead.
Their people came on time the next day at 3 pm with 17ft truck, packed all the items properly in their own carton boxes.

Now the bomb drop starts;
BOOM 1 - You have to pay security deposit of Rs.80 for one carton box and once you unload all the items, call us, we will pick the boxes and refund the amount (This was never informed when the inspection happened). I negotiated Rs.70 per box & paid Rs.3640 for 52 boxes.

BOOM 2 - The 17ft truck storage fell short & the loading guys said they have to do two trips. As it was already post 2 am and would be time consuming in unloading the truck, come back again and load the left over items, I booked two Tata ACE (One on the same day for packed items, the other on the next day for my dead bike & son's bicycle) via Porter and paid Rs.1050 out of my pocket - A big miss/forced move from their inspection executive.

After loading all the items, both the truck and ACE arrived at my new house around 3 am and all the items were unloaded and it took around 4 hours to complete unloading stuff.

BOOM 3 - After completion, guys there demanded Rs.5000 TIPS which was a shocker. However, because of the efforts that they put in and worked tirelessly for around 14-15 hours that too in the whole night, I gave them Rs.2500.

And then, it took around 3-4 days for us to settle in our new house. After unloading all the boxes, I called their executive Dinesh and asked him to send guys to collect the boxes and do my refund. He said it will take 3 days to arrange pickup and the refund will be given immediately post that.

I waited 3 days, nobody came, called him again and he gave pickup guy's number, followed up with him and he arrived the next day. Unfortunately, we had only 51 boxes (Blame on me for miscounting). Boxes were collected back and the guy told that the refund of Rs.3570 (51x70) will be initiated from the company's end. I waited again for a day, no refund came.

BOOM 4 - Followed up with executive the next day. He immediately refunded Rs.3070 and guess what Rs.500 DIESEL CHARGES FOR PICKUP (NEVER EVER INFORMED)

I questioned him and he immediately disconnected the call and then no reply for messages or calls.

This was my whole story and a good lesson learnt.

Their business is not transparent and they will rip you with all the hidden charges and be ready to pay at least 7-10k extra from what they quote.
Apart from paying extra, you also have to deal with mental trauma, N no. of callings and followups.

This company is a big NO for shifting purpose and thankfully my shifting was only within a few kms. I have seen people complaining about damaged furnitures and other valuable things in inter-city shifting.

Be careful with such cheating and looting people/company.

I have approached for providing quote for my house hold move. They have provided the quote, which they don't want to abide, keeping rising the price and changing the terms and conditions.

I had to deal with 3 people and all three talk different things.

I booked consignment from American Express Packers and Movers and thet didn’t deliver complete particulars and kept few things with them and now not ready to give that to me even after sending many emails and calling to them.

I did all the follow up would request you to take some strict action cause they are doing scam now.

We shifted from Bangalore to visakhapatnam thru them in june 2021. We paid 6000rs as insurance. There was damages to the bike and we have sent mail and constantly calling them to get the insurance claim. But its been 1.5 months. Nor they are receiving the call nor giving our money back.

Worst service ever used, every one will point to others within the team. They will take the shipment first (saying we are near our location) without proper details and then will charge heavily. Even for cancellation they will charge heavy amount .At the time of enquiry or they will have no issues to deliver the shipment in two place but at the end it will be shipped to one place and upon calling they will say to take care of own. I am proving the names of the employees as well in case management wants to check with them. Its Shriya, Manoj and Sandeep.

Do not go with American Express. They are the biggest scammers in this field.

I moved my things from Banglore to Calicut using them. The worst decision I made is to book this packers. During the booking, they will give me a quotation with Rs 21150. In the booking receipt, they will not fill GST, Service charge and insurance. If we ask their booking person they will say it is not needed because it is not coming under that. You have to pay only 21150. Also in the kerala union issue is there so they will unload only i[censored]nion people not come. Otherwise, they will give the unloading money back. But after packing and taking things they will start blackmailing. They will call and message from different numbers. They shared another bill with Rs 28203. Whatever we say they will not hear anything because our goods are already with them. Even they told me that the people who came to my house for booking and packing are illiterate local people, so they don't know the actual charges and bills. At last, I paid the full amount of 28203 and they told me that it will be delivered to me on the very next day. But it didnt.

After that, I got to know that they dont have any movers. They will pack the things and giving it to other truck people for moving and delivery. They won't even care about the goods once we pay them. To Kerala, they used "Excel Roadways" Chokkasandra based movers(Other states different movers). From them, I got to know that they got this moving contract for less than Rs 10000. They told me that this is their (American Express) normal routine. They dont even have moving vehicles. What they have is a small godown and a small office. I called them and asked about unloading and reassembling. They said that their people will come in bike and unload the same.

This will not end there. After 1 week(after so many calls and messages) I got my goods in Calicut, but they will not unload or unpack or reassemble. They gave subcontract to movers only for delivering. So they will not unload. When I called American Express they told me to unload with other people they will give me back the money. I did that because my goods were on the road. After I called they are saying they can't give the money back. Because it is not their policy. If we call again they are making a mockery of ourselves by just saying "Don't go outside, Corona is there " etc.

If we say that we will give consumer/police complaint, or adding google reviews they will simply say "ok go on. It will not affect us, Do whatever you want".

I had requested for moving my luggage from bangalore to pune on[protected], which reached pune on[protected].

When i received my luggage, they were in horrible condition. I did not expect such a pathetic service from m/s america express packers and movers.

I had even made the full payment prior to shipment expecting best service from your side.

Now, i regret my decision of making full payment. I have followed up with american packers and movers from past one month to get the damages fixed or to reimburse the equivalent amount on priority basis.

I had also given another option where they can pay me an advance amount to get the things fixed, i can submit all the bills and they can do the final settlement accordingly. I had paid the insurance as well for this shipment.
