I visited your store today regarding a charging issue with my device. The technician cleaned the dust and confirmed it was working fine, stating that dust accumulation was the only problem.
When I inquired about the service charge, I was shocked to learn that the amount quoted was ₹999 — solely for dust cleaning. I asked again to confirm, and he repeated the same amount. I would have understood this charge if any parts had been replaced, but charging ₹999 for just cleaning dust is completely unacceptable.
To make matters worse, the technician then suggested that I purchase a product from the store, implying that the charge would be waived only if I did so. This felt like a forced and threatening sales tactic, which is highly unprofessional.
I later received an email stating that for any discrepancy, I should contact the store — which prompted me to raise this complaint.
It is disappointing that a reputed company trains its employees to exploit customers over minor issues like dust cleaning — either by overcharging or pressuring them into unnecessary purchases.
I had trusted your brand enough to travel 20 km to visit your store. This kind of experience feels like cheating, and it has severely damaged my confidence in your service.
I request that this matter be investigated and appropriate action be taken. Was this information helpful? |
It is submitted that the amount communicated to the Complainant was towards the applicable Customer Engagement Service charges and not merely for cleaning of dust. During the course of diagnosis, it was determined that the reported charging issue was caused due to dust accumulation, which was addressed as part of the Customer Engagement Service.
It is further submitted that the store team informed the Complainant that, in case he did not wish to avail the Customer Engagement Service by paying the applicable charges, he could alternatively purchase an eligible accessory, upon which the Customer Engagement Service charges would be waived. The said option was extended purely as a customer convenience and was not intended to compel or coerce the Complainant into making any purchase.
Without prejudice to the above, as a goodwill gesture and with a view to amicably resolve the matter, the Respondent contacted the Complainant on 26.06.2026 and offered a 50% concession on the Customer Engagement Service charges. The Complainant agreed to the same, and the Respondent is in the process of refunding the agreed amount.
In view of the above, the allegations o[censored]nfair trade practice or coercion are baseless and are therefore denied.
