[Resolved] Baapstore — not keeping promise - no refund | |||
This is in reference to a dropshipping website called, www.baapstore.com I was looking for a drop shipping website and while surfing the net i got to their webpage, they claim to offer a hassle free dropshipping website however it is far from reality. Like anyone else, i searched on the internet for any feedback or complaint about this company however found none. I called up the number mentioned on their website ([protected]) and it was picked up by a girl called shahin. She told me that she is a business development employee of that company. She told me that website will be hosted by baapstore and it will be completely hassle free. I told her upfront that i am not a tech savvy person and i will need help on everyday basis with the website to which she confirmed and assured that help will be provided on every step. She asked me to buy a domain, i bought a domain of my choice and made a payment via bank transfer of inr 35, 399 to their bank account number – [protected], account name – kg tech, branch – chennai. I was waiting and waiting, and after 5-6 days i received an email stating my website credentials, when i checked the website, it was incomplete and there were hardly 18 products listed. They promise and claim to put up 10000+ products on the website. I wasn’t aware so i dropped and email about website status, they informed that website is under construction. Later when i asked for a refund, they told me website is ready wherein i got no confirmation or tutorial from them. I have no idea about how to use website, how to update product list, how to remove a product, how to order from baapstore when i receive an order. I have no clue to how and what margin is set on the website for me as a seller. I even wrote to the owner of baapstore (Karthic) however he is also least bothered to answer. Lot o[censored]nanswered questions and they are claiming that website is ready. Inspite of requests and emails, they were not willing to give any contact email address, they only provided [protected]@baapstore.com email address and the mobile number mentioned above. I waited and finally requested for a refund. Till now i am waiting for a final call from them. The only motive behind writing this is to find a way to get my hard earned 35k+ from them and also to keep people informed about the kind of treatment you should expect from baapstore. My suggestion is, stay away. At least one honest review is there on the internet for baapstore, i wish one was there when i decided to pay them. Was this information helpful? | |||

I had a similar or worse experience too. They are far away from what they claim on their web site. It certainly is not at all good for people who are not technical like me and wants to do as part time. You might need to spend a whole lot of time tweaking the site. They are just money minded and not at all customer oriented. They don't even bother to follow up with you once the payment is made. There is not trail period or refund policy. They did not show any of the sites that are using Baapstore before I bought. I just went by the promises Karthik made over a telephone conversation and made the full payment. Its a whole lot of hard earned money, Rs 36, 995 including GST + I spent about Rs 2000 in making the site HTTPS etc. The site they gave me is just very primitive. It doesn't contain any content in the pages like About Us, Contact Us etc. Unfortunately the theme I chose from the 10 options they gave me is not as appealing as it was in the demo sites they showed and there is no way I can change the theme without paying them additional money. They just don't worry about the quality of the site or is it meeting my expectations, is it in a marketable position etc. I have not taken my site live yet. It's been more than 4 months.
Coming to the products. The products are not great in terms of designs. They are okay okay types. Honestly I wouldn't buy if I wear a customer hat. I clearly see the prices are too high compared to Amazon and Flipkart but when I ask them, they say the quality of their products is better than the similar ones on Amazon. But I seriously doubt. I suspect that they don't have any inventory and even they dropship from someone in Surat. So they add their margins on top of the price they get and I add margins on top of what I get it for and the price gets higher. Absolutely 'no' description of the products. No sizes information. No availability information. There is no way to sync the availability on the site with their inventory(if at all there is any). Product images are very poor quality. Why would anyone buy products at that high price without any description and at least good image of the product? I don't know.They said products will be auto refilled but they have not added any new products after I bought. They say that I need to add and they would upload a spreadsheet with the details. As I mentioned I am not technical and finds it very difficult to do all this.
Although I found a dropshipping company from Surat which costs 1/4th of Baapstore price, I went with Baapstore as this sounded slightly professional. But the reality is they not at all are and as good as any small player who just try to make money and don't focus on establishing a brand.
About multi channel support, they said the products can be sold on Amazon, Filpkart, Ebay etc. That's a different ball game altogether if you are not into it already. Baapstore gave products for only Amazon after couple of months. They are asking extra money for Facebook page. I got couple of small orders from Amazon and incurred 60% loss on those orders due to the confusion in inventory. The product sheets they give for Amazon cannot be directly uploaded to Amazon. They have several issues and they don't care about it. I have hired a third party for doing this for me. (Additional cost!)
This is just a bit of my whole dissatisfaction with Baapstore. I'll write the second part later. May be I'd open a new thread. But if you need to take a decision before that please watch out. They do not have a refund policy or a money back guarantee or a trail period or they show you any of the sites of their customers (they say cannot disclose but now I know..). Think about it.
As well anybody please let me know if there is a way I can try to get my money back from Baapstore.

This is true, they are doing the same thing to everyone. They took the money from me and now telling me that they are not available. Karthik who is the head of the org, spoke sensibly when I got him on the call and explained the issue. However, It didn't take him more than a day to start hiding, now they say they can't even talk. When I ask about the the money, they don't have an answer at all.

They ask me to send an email, wherein i don't get a single proper response form my emails.
Note: Baapstore.com is a fraud site. I have lost my money. Just want all of you guys to know it. Even if this post can save a single person from being cheated, that's enough.

But before subscribing, I researched about them online and found some complaint here.. I was skeptical after reading this complaint as whether they will provide the good services or not. But I also do not have many choices as I know ecommerce is booming and it's the right time to make money, but also need a reliable services. As I'm living in a nearby state only, I thought to visit them directly and get my doubts clarified. I met them and continuing their services for 6 months now.
Hence I believe I'm eligible to review them.
I met them during mid January, about 7 months back. Honestly I was bit taken aback reaching out to their office as the office was very normal and not like any expensive startups office that you expect. I met Mr.Karthik and one other person(sorry forgot the name :( ).
I had a 45 minutes meeting, checked their sample products quality and asked all kinds of questions, straight and shameless ones. I was about to pay 40, 000rs and why not to get my doubts clarified, right?
Regarding Meeting: It was really a good one, they helped me understand ecommerce dropshipping totally and were not providing any kind of polished answers and totally transparent about their services.
What I liked them is I was trying to make them give me some promises about how much I will earn monthly. But they were very clear that it is totally a sellers' performance based and there is no minimum or maximum limits. It made my big doubt cleared that they don't make fake promises just to sell their subscription, but take time to explain what's what.
Also Kartik answered all my questions including the absurd ones very patiently about how to trust them, why to pay them, bla bla bla..
I also advised him to take a bigger office, but he said they were bootstrapped and not interested in unnecessary glamorous things and focused only on core services. This seemed to be true otherwise also since they do not promote themselves much, there was not even one advertising banner outside their office complex, which is in a busiest place in all of Chennai. I have read somewhere that Chennai based Startups are humble ones, like Zoho and Kissflow.
Regarding Website: After signing up with Baapstore by February, I got my website delivered within 7 working days as promised. But it took me 2 months to fully roll out as I was testing something since Im not from a technical background. I have got a training session on-demand and also whatever issue I raise, they cleared it on time. Initially my website was kind of slow because of lacs of products loaded in my website. But after putting up the speed plugin per their advise, that issue is solved and it's working superbly from then.
Regarding Delivery Services: They have tie up with companies like Delhivery, FedEx, Ecom Express, Aramax, Speed Post, etc., and cover almost all parts of India. Except 1-2%, all other orders are shipped within 12 to 48hours. They also provide COD services which is very helpful for me to increase my business.
Regarding Products: They are increasing their products frequently and I love selling them. Recently added Saree catalog is giving me sales more than any other catalogs. If there is any issue with the products, they are taking it back free and refund full amount, on time.
Final Verdict: Go for their biggest packages(i guess platinum or diamond one) if you are serious about setting up a business, they will be very supportive in growing your business. More than dropshipping what I found them to be is very supportive in helping me solve any issues that I'd get, even if it is not related to them.

Thanks guys for all information I was really planning to go ahead with Baapstore but it seem they don't have infrastructure in place else they would have become a big e-commerce giant themselves, better go and speak to a manufacturer as and start selling their finished products, note there is no fast money friends, take a proper brand authorization or register a trademark of your own with gst all this legally will cost not more than 20k, buy genuine products and slowly your sales will grow, let me know if you have any queries

I tried with AliExpress, Oberlo and many other dropshipping companies. From my experience, Baapstore is the best. All the products in Baapstore are ready to be dropshipped, free deliveries and correct wholesale cost for the products. I can resell even 10rs kerchief and they ship it without any questions.

If this were a genuine company, they would offer a free trial. But they told me they can't do that. I said let me sell just ONE product as free trial to see how it works, but flatly refused. There are fake good reviews it seems on quora, and the SAME ones are copy-pasted on this page, since this one has some honest reviews which are bad. Why would the SAME persons all come on this unknown page to put their same reviews, and all decide to copy-paste their quora reviews?! Sounds like something fishy.

Yes, baapstore is not a good dropshipper, products are cheap, you will face very struggle to promote reason is products are very cheap quality and very minimum, I registered2 years before and I dreamt but it was reverse, I struggling because of products, so don't register, save your hard earned money.
