Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation [BMTC] — NO TIMING GAP between consecutive buses

Me and my friend had to wait for approximately 1 hr for a bus. It didn't arrive and hence we decided to walk to our destination. To our utter surprise on our way we saw three same numbered bus coming altogether with no time gap between the buses. This is not happening for the first time. Once I even had to wait for 2hrs. The bus number is 171 and our stop was forum Koramangala.
