In 2015-16. There were lot of complaints from consumers regarding bbmp portal for property tax payment. I also faced a similar issue and am not getting a resolution with multiple visits to bbmp office and i am being made to run from pillar to post. Calls to bbmp dy comm goes unanswered. I am not able to file a complaint in their portal because it accepts only a 10 digit application form eventhough i am giving the correct no based on receipt from bbmp.
I had paid property tax on 29.04.2015 online through hdfc and initially it displayed error in transaction. However, when i tried again, the payment went through. However, the amount got debited twice. Subsequently, i approached aro and filed a letter along with all documents including my bank account & he confirmed that the excess payment will be adjusted towards 2016-17 tax. Till date this has not been resolved. On the contrary, when i go to pay online payment, i am asked to pay 2015-16 & 2016-17 along with penalty & interest. Why does bbmp harass honest tax payers like us? Is this a penalty for honesty in india?
