I took a BSNL fiber connection on First week of December 2023 ([protected]). I was informed by Mr. Rajib Hazarika (of BSNL Tezpur, Assam) that Rs. 799/- is the plan for a connection of speed 100mbps and accordingly, I chose that plan and continued. Rs. 3000/- was paid to his personal account as an installation charge. In the very first month (January 2024), the first bill came for two months together and when inquired, Mr. Hazarika said that it will be adjusted later. But so far not adjusted, as I have been paying continuously after that. Though my plan was 100mbps, but practically I never received more than 20 mbps. Even their technician came and checked and in their machine also the speed never exceeded 20 mbps. After that they were very reluctant to provide their service, forget about service even not receiving calls. They said that the router will be changed but never done. All those bad experiences lead me to finally surrender the connection. On 14th March 2024, I wrote an application for surrendering my connection and submitted to Mr. Kumud Baruah at BSNL office Tezpur. He told me that due to the March ending the surrender process can't be completed in March and asked me to call on 1st April 2024. Accordingly, I called him on 1st April. He said you call be tomorrow, I will search the application and see . I called him on 2nd then on 3rd and son on. After 3/4 days, when I called again he said that the application is lost. Then he informed that my bill is pending for February. I submitted the receipt of the payment. Then he said that he will check. The process continued but so far no result. In the mean time the bill for March was generated on 4th April. Who will pay that? Overall they are very casual and I have had a horrible experience. The customers were cheated with the speed of internet. So I hereby request you to take strict action against it and refund my installation charges and the extra bill paid in the first month.
