Bharat Sanchar Nigam [BSNL] — security refund delayed | |||
I had applied for disconnection of my landline and broadband connection on june 7th, 2017 and the connection was made inactive on june 20th, 2017 i. E. After 13 days. Further, as per my bill for the month of june, i am entitled to a security refund of rs. 2847/-. As informed by the bsnl exchange, the security was to be refunded through cheque within 60 days from the date of disconnection of service. However, i have not received my security refund till date. On enquiring multiple times in the exchange, i was told to wait till march 2018. As per trai, “the service provider shall terminate the connection within 7 days. They cannot charge rental or any other charges beyond the period of 7 days of request for closure made by the customer. Further, fresh bills shall be raised only after adjustment of the security deposit. The closure/ termination of service shall not be made conditional upon payment of dues/ bills/settlement of dispute. The outstanding amount of security deposits has to be refunded within 60 days of closure/ termination of service.in case of delay in refund beyond 60 days, a consumer is entitled to interest at the rate of 10% per annum for the number of days refund is delayed beyond 60 days” I tried reaching bsnl customer care over call for the same matter, but i was told that the refund is to be issued by the bsnl exchange and there is nothing that the customer care can do about it. Further, i was advised by the customer care to wait for the duration of period communicated by the exchange i. E. Till march 2018. Was this information helpful? | |||
