Biman Bangladesh Airlines — Bag Loss report not providing for insurance claim

Dear Sir/Madam,

We have lost our bag on 2nd July 2016 during travel from Singapore to Kolkata via Dhaka. My Wife and I regularly communicated with Biman Bangladesh Airlines stuff in Kolkata/Dhaka/Singapore for Bag status. Initially they provided hope that bag will be found and may be in Dhaka airport lost during transit. Now after so many days they have provided the claim form and we have filled up the form with all required documents. Biman Bangladesh Airlines has agreed to give us USD 140.00 compensation for the bag loss which we have not agreed to receive as we are not satisfied with this value compared to what we have lost and also because we have travel insurance which can provide better compensation. Now Biman Bangladesh Airlines stuff says they have close the case because we have not agreed to receive their compensation value.

My Insurance company asked to get a report from Biman Bangladesh Airlines. Every week I used to email them about Bag loss report which will have information like Bag is totally lost and no compensation is given to the owner of the bag (we/us) as my insurance company needs this information from the airlines. But Biman Bangladesh Airlines stuff will not provide this information to me. Biman Bangladesh Airlines has provided me a report on first day when we have lost the bag called PIR(Property Irregularity Report) and this report has no confirm information like Bag is lost or delayed etc or any compensation details as it was very early report.

Biman Bangladesh Airlines stuff also given us alternate options like getting other replacement bag which might be another bag lost by another Passenger, which we have rejected as we felt that is not proper.

How can we get proper bag loss report from Biman Bangladesh Airlines so that we can claim our bag loss insurance from our corporate travel insurance company.

Now almost every week since last few months I used to send email and ask for Bag loss report & claim status to send me/reply me by email. until now no reply from any of Biman Airline officers. Last reply I got is on January 21, 2017:

"Sir,
You refused our compensation proposal as per IATA baggage rule . So our side is closed .

B/R
SMCCUBG"

After that they have not replied me.
