"Me and my parents had hard time in getting me a computer science engineering seat in Bangalore, being a NRI from Kenya. We had approached many colleges, but most of them responded with very high fees, which was not in my budge, and no one helped us with documentation like eligibility, migration etc.

But Brindavan college admission team gave me the best affordable fees, they were very proactive in getting my admission...

    Dear sir, madame,

I am student of final semester of a PG course in Brindavan College located In Bangalore City. Most of the students studying in this college are coming from middle class families who can hardly manage and afford to pay the fees and other expenses which the college management impose on them.

The chairman of this college is Arab man who is originally from Palestine but now he has Indian citizenship. He is an aggressive, uneducated and money thirsty man who can go to any extend to loot the innocent students.

The lecturers can be called anything other than teachers. The college is getting lacs of rupees of the students but in return students gain nothing here.

let me come to the point, Next month (April 2012) we are going to have so called a graduation day and for that college has asked each and every student to pay Rs.2500 and if someone is not coming then Rs.1500.

We are poor students and we really can't afford to pay such big amount to wear a 10 years old gown and eat a Rs.100 Biryani.

Though we have tried a lot to convince the management of this college to let us not attend this graduation day but this amount has to be paid and it is made compulsory .

So we are asking you to come and ask the management of this college that why are they forcing the students to attend a ceremony in which students are not interested? Why in a democratic country such wrong things happen?

Please come and save us....we don't have much time....Please...

      ear Students,

Welcome to the Brindavan College in Bangalore, India “on-line”.

Like all Web-sites, this one contains plenty of information: regarding Brindavan College’s accreditation, the degree programs we offer, student services beyond classroom instruction, facilities and people -- students, administrators, faculty and staff – who make up the college community.

But more than this, it is our intention to provide you with a flavour for life at Brindavan College, the result of those ingredients that make our College a very special place.

We are fond of saying that Brindavan College in Bangalore is Indian not only in name but in substance. This serves as our calling card and captures the essence of the educational experience we seek to provide -- right here in India.

The uncompromising maintenance of high academic standards, an emphasis on innovative and critical thinking and identification of the “whole person” as the target for human and cultural development are those factors which truly distinguish Indian education. Even at this point in Brindavan College’s young history, these are precisely the values which underpin the College’s identity. Add to this the belief that education in India is best served by curricula which are career-driven and skill-based, and you’ll understand how the College is contributing to the accomplishment of a dignified individual for progress.

I trust you find this journey through the world of Brindavan College both informative and stimulating. At the very least, I hope it gives you something to think about.

Brindavan College - Beautiful academic environment
          Dear All !!!

It has been a tremendous experience studying in this prestigious college having many foreign students studying under one roof. On the very first day when I visited Brindavan College I was really impressed with the building and its surroundings.

Labs at Brindavan College are at state of the art and comfortable with internet access. So is our library with a massive collection of latest books, journals, magazines, research journals and project report. Time simply flies flipping through the pages of the new arrivals.

Placements are more in our college and be it for anyone selecting an academic institution. This is because of our dynamic full fledged corporate and placements dept. this dept takes care to arrange in house and out bound professional training program regularly in order to meet our skill sets thereby pausing us a smooth way leading to bright & successful careers.

It has also availed to me an opportunity to know other cultures, customs and norms, and above all it has a beautiful academic environment just suitable for one to excel in their academics

In this college a student is always cheerful and colorful. It had acquired grade ‘A’ level certificate by “NAAC”.

The Management and teachers are very co-operative and kind to students.

This says the golden history of college which completed 15 years of serving students.

I am very glad that I got opportunity to get graduated here.

                      Dear sir/madam,
This is a student of Brindavan College (Bhoopasandra, Bangalore
560094) writing this letter in order to draw your attention towards
our despised mentally and monitarily harassed situation. The Chairman
(Majed A A Sabha) and principal (Mohd. Noor Ahmed) of this college is
not leaving any chance to "loot" money from the students.

I along with my friends are in final year and still for college we are
strangers and money generating medium. The college doesnot leave any
stone unturned in terms of extracting ("Our parents hard earned")
                      money for their own benefit.

Coming to the point, this is exam time and this is the time when
college earns most of its BLACK money... The college had divided the
                      students into 3parts.
Firstly, those who have 75% attendance (No fine for them). Second,
those who have 60-75% attendance (Rs.300 Fine). Third, those who have
0-60% (they have to pay a grand sum of Rs. 3000 per student + Rs.300 +
semester exam fees, amounting to Rs 5000 for some students of some
courses (like BBM and BCA). This is not all.. The college is terming
this money as the fees for the 14 days of extra class, College will be
organising so as to make up the percentage to atleast 60%. But you and
me know the actual reason, i think.. Well, The amount has to be paid
within 30th of this month, which is a great problem for me and for
maximum of students to gather this amount within the stipulated time..
We are very depressed and agitated... We went to principal to have a
talk but in turn, HE WARNED US THAT IF WE ARGUE REGARDING MONEY MATTER
ANY MORE THEN THE COLLEGE WILL BE ISSUEING TRANSFER CERTIFICATE ON THE
SPOT.. The college is not at all ready to hear to us and is stern in
collecting Rs.3000 (+extra) from the students... We would like you
take some action on this.. Please Sir.

Not only this, recently we had Graduation Day in Leela Palace,
Bangalore, Per head charges were Rs. 1750. Now many students were not
able to attent this once in a lifetime moment due to lack of money...
Now the college is after extracting this Rs. 1750 from those who didnt
go to Leela Palace saying that THE STUDENTS HAVE TO PAY THAT SUM EVEN
IF HE/SHE DID'NT ATTEND AND IF NOT DONE SO THE STUDENT WILL NOT BE
ISSUED ADMIT CARD FOR THE FORTHCOMING SEMESTER EXAM AND WILL BE
                      DETAINED...

Sir, I would like to mention that here in this college prevails a
great deal of partiality to the foreigners mainly Iranians. They get
to do anything in the campus but their activities always remain
invisible to the authority. And we Indian's are the one who had to
suffer for anything minor we do or in some cases even if we do not do
                      anything..

Please sir.. we are being sarcastically abused in this and many other
dirty ways by the management. We request you to visit our Brindavan
Campus and check for yourself... We guarantee that you will yourself
feel ashamed of this kind of money extracting education system
prevailing in this college. PLease publish this news so that students
from other places thinking of pursuing their degrees from this college
gets alarmed obout the malpractices in here.
We are hoping of an appropriate action from your part...

Hoping this letter would be considered as an important issue.

                      Your's Faithfully,
                      Kalkut.
[Sorry name withheld as we have been warned as that if these deeds of
college comes to limelight the particular student would be a recipent
of severe punishment and even TC or Rustication]

It is very difficult to meet Principal, Chairman or Director in other colleges but I found
in Brindavan College any one can meet Chairman and he is the person who take up
the things very carefully and he gives the solution for everything. I dont know how this

every thing wt u said its totaly true
is there a gym in this college?
Guys have you heard the latest cheating of sabha...Nw hes collecting 15000rs from every girl in the hostel to provide them with food..We very well know how the canteen food is but this sick dog is threatening the children telling that if they dont pay the money they will be kicked out from the college...
This [censored]er is also collecting exam fees of 2 semesters now..the students of the 5th sem has to pay 2500 for their graduation now..
this person has become a money sucking lunatic that he wont hesitate to rob mony form innocent parents...

So i advice you never to take addmission in this money sucking college...
Eventhough he colects money from children he wont even give drinking water faciity to the students in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors...he cheats money for his own benifit and i a chid i refucing his behaviour he or she will be a victim of his revenge...

[censored] you Sabha...YOU WILL BURN IN THE FIRES OF HELL FOR DOING THIS...
Totally agree i have suffered a lot in this college. Even though i have graduated from this college with good marks but believe me they don't follow their own instructions as per their prospectus. In college prospectus they have mentioned the relaxation of attendance and at very last moment of examination they change their attendance plan according to their own wish to make money and put hefty amount of fine on students and when middle class student like me cannot afford to pay that fine i was not permitted to sit in my 4th semester examination. Even though they knew i was given the bed rest from doctor for having chicken pox with the marks of chicken pox all over my body but still they denied it. I don't know how inhuman a staff might be. And during my academic years there were almost 5 principals 4 HODS n 3 times the whole teaching staff was changed. Now u decide the money is yours and the life is yours. They make money from IRANIS, AFGANIS N SOME MORE MUSLIMS NRIS so they consider indian students as a piece of crap. So they are always partial to indian students. There was no one to tell me but am thankful to all the ex students who stood up against this college. GOD BLESS ALL THOSE WHO ARE GOING TO TAKE ADMISSION IN THIS COLLEGE. HAVE A SAFE FUTURE
damed i hav joined this college jst yesterday was`nt knwing about these things i jst hope all of this is wrong
This is Rajesh Ramanath, studing in brindavan college and staying in a room but no time found for ourselves. The college will be working from Monday to Saturday(9.30am to 5.00pm) and we are not supposed to take holiday since we stay away from our parents and we have our set of responsibility to meet all those things, the college timings has become a big headache for me. No other colleges in bangalore has a college timings like this. Why this college does not understand problems faced when staying alone from the family? And make atleast saturday holiday (or half day), if this is done it helps many of them and we will be happy.
Please help us and sort out the problem
                      Thanking You,
                      Rajesh
THIS IS ALL , DO U EXPECT ME TO BELIVE ALL THIS, COLLEGE AND MANAGEMENT ARE THE BEST .

                      ELYAS
The college stands for academic excellence, has all the ingredients for success, unparalleled facilities, excellent social atmosphere where courtesy, kindness and industriousness are the hallmarks. To provide quality education, we have superb faculty who are highly qualified and experienced.

The college has enormous potential to help the students to meet the challenges of life. It helps them to take their place in society, since it teaches youth of different social, cultural and religious background to live together in the spirit of togetherness and sharing, so that in the world of tomorrow they may be better than the best.

The Brindavan College is accredited ‘A’ level by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council – NAAC. Apart from Science, we are specialized in the filed of Computer Applications, Commerce and Management. It has a rich library with e-lib facility, well equipped labs, computer lab with internet connectivity, audio-visual programmes, auditorium, sports facilities, health club, guidance and counselling cell and active placement facility.
When I came first to this college regarding admission I was impressed to see the campus building and environment and finally I made decision to take admission in this college.
This is very good college for education. The teachers of this college are very kind who are always ready to help the students. Here many facilities are provided to the students which help to learn easily. This campus rules and regulations are very impressive which I like most. NowIamvery glad and proud to say I took a good decision for higher education.

                      Ashok
I strongly agree on the complaint by Kalkut!! since i have seen and experienced this. im an ex- student of brindavan, and i have had the worst of three years there, with regard to education. I was on a scholarship there, but still the money sucking part is really very true, apart from the above all, the education provided has no quality at all. i went there with high hopes of becoming a successful person in my career, but i have gained nothing from the three years, it was a complete waste. i wish i get back those three years!! the management does not care about the quality of education provided, all they do is just show off and advertise their college with all lies and attracting more and more international students!!! i have warned all my friends who wants to go for higher studies, to avoid this place!!! The teachers have no knowledge no experience nothing., most of them doesnt know proper english even!! THERE ARE TIMES WHEN THE STUDENTS HAVE TO TEACH THEM!!! ITS TOTALLY DISGUSTING!!! I HATE THAT PLACE AND THE MANAGEMENT, THE PRINCIPAL!!! ALL MONEY SUCKING !!!
its all rubbish, this college is very good and excellent results
not sure why such impressionabouut the institution. I have my brotehr studying in Brindavan college, and I find the management very approachable. Yes money is important for managing any institution and only the mentioned amount at the time of admission is collected. There is no hidden cost. I recomend Brindavan college for admissions.
I do not understand the frustration of the Students in this regard. I feel this are the students who are not serious about the studies. Money is important to run any institution and ofcourse money is collected by the college admin. No extraamount is collected other than what is agreed at the time of admission. It is not right to write anything personal about any individual. I study in this college and have found staff very helpful. Results are very good. I have been guided in times of need.
What is all this complaint . Does not look like studenst doimg this. I am studying here andhavenotheardany bad complaints about anyone here, so why in thi sblog. Guess this is fruad.
Brindavan collegeis very good. It gives an holistic study environment with its strength of foreign students. If one wants to study and do well this college is very good. If Studnets are looking to come and enjoy it is not good as the management is very strict. Due to this strictness the studnets who are not able to do all wrong things are frustrated and write this in blog. SO friends if you want to study and begood come to Brindavancollege. I am in Engg. college doing Civil. 2 year. Rahul
iagree with Rahul, I have done my PUC .in Brindavan college and now do Engg. in Brindavancollege. I have not had any problem with the management or staff. Food is good and hostel is comfortable. I agree that due to strictness of the mamagement the bad students are complaining. Please come and visit college before you take decision. Dont go by what theblog says. Tiwari ( Bihar)
Good College. It is a place to be as good teachers, good students and they do all that is said. The presence of foreign students helps me learn cultural difference. Come and join Brindavan College.
                      Hi all,
I donno if the college is good or bad but one thing is for sure that the college is only behind money. The students are not the only one suffering there but the faculties too. Only rich arab students get favors and enjoy here. If any faculty complaints against them, they are thrown out of the college. I know few teachers who are more than willing to help the students but the management does not allow.

I would also like to mention that the fault is not fully of the college, students give them a chance to exploit them. When you have registered there, I think one can easily manage 75% attendance. Along with the teachers, it's students responsibility to pay attention during classes and ask when they don't understand something.

My last word would be that we all know that most of the private colleges are there only to earn money. When one takes admission there, they should try to make the most out of it as they know that otherwise they would be wasting their parents hard earned money.

                      Take care guys
                      well wisher
What kind of a college gives admission to people of such poor grammar in English language, which is pretty obvious from most of the above comments. The college should 1st of all choose a standard criteria on which the applicants must be admitted followed by a proper evaluation. And one of the significant criteria being the fluency in English language. And if the applicants previous qualification was not conducted in English medium, he/she must have an IELTS acceptable score, as practiced by other good colleges and universities. I pursued my Bachelors Degree in the same college, but I wont be biased or negative. The college has its pros and cons, as all the colleges. And as for the money sucking part, where in India do u not expect this kind of corruption. No offense. I like the country very much, the tradition, the culture and the people and also Ive learned a lot during my stay their with the vast number of diversity found in the college itself. The college environment is very warm and welcoming. Hence, I would like like to conclude that the college could try and cease the corruption, and the office staff should be more trained and helpful, which in turn will be an ideal place to get your higher education.

                      Salaam.
is it really a good college???i anyone takes admission here it will be good or bad/????plz suggest me..

we also had a stall we sold 6000 from our stall and we gave the tickets to management to collect our money but they gave us 2000 only and thats all . we lost
                      BRINDAVAN COLLEGE SUCKS !!!11
Agreeing to Shammas said I would also like to point at comments made from the Langer's id. Dude three times you posted with three different posts and in one you said your brother studies in Brindavan and in another post you claim you are studying there. Give me a break.

then the id onlytruth0069 uses the same id for posting on behalf of two different person Rahul and Tiwari.. lol.. . My brother was planning to take admission in Brindavan.. now after listening to what everyone has to say, I would rather ask him to take admission somewhere else.
I swear to almighty god that whatever i will say is as authentic as sky and earth.

All this is false information. Brindavan College is one of the reputed college in Bangalore and accredited by NAAC in A Grade. Any private college will behind money. So, this college is not different in that aspect. Brindavan College is striving hard to give quality with all the odds. Chairman of the college Dr. Majed Sabha is very co-operative and always supports the students in all their activities. One good example for this is the recently concluded Graduation Day Ceremony wherein he has spent almost Rs. 8, 000/- per student for giving all the facilities but collected only Rs. 2000/- from each student. He has striving hard to provide all the good facility to the students.
This is really . I am the alumni of this college. I have not faced any of the situations as explained above. The student who has posted the above comment had really gone mad. The college is really has very good infrastructure. The management is very much pleasing and cooperative. In some aspects like maintainance of attandance the college is realy strict and kind. If it is the case of harassment, how the students from 46 countries from different parts of world have admitted and continuing their studies.

                      prakash
I disagree with the statements by the author. Only the bad students and students with ulterior motives can post this type of comments to any institution. Any college is the alma mater to the student as it moulds the student for a better and brighter future.

The students who never or rarely attend classes will comment about the fine collection. If the student is regular, how can a management can collect fine. As he is in the odd side, then only management can ask for the fine or penalty for that matter. If he is regular, if he is punctual, then definitely student will have all praise for the college.

The Brindavan College is a good old college which is providing quality education to the students. Its Chiarman Majed Sabha is a gem of a person. He came all the way from palestine to do his B.E. and established institutions of excellence. Like all the managements he too is collecting money from the students but it is utilized only for providing better facilities for the students. The best example for this is how the Yelahanka campus of Brindavan College Group of Institutions was developed. The students are provided with all good facilities and promoting all the curricular and co-curricular activities.
The information by the author completely false. There is no base for his complaints. The students complain when their request for some misdeeds are unheard and been punished for their misdeeds. This kind of posting tells us that the said student is mischievous and involved in one or the other kind of activities that brings bad name to the institute as well as to the college.

The college is very good with all better and world class facilities. Chairman is always touring the different countries and observe the world class infrastructure and tries to implement the same in his college. The chairman is very co-operative and listens to the complaints by the students and take appropriate measures to solve those problems. He is always accessible to the students.
                      dear writer,

i am surprised to see the bad comments on this blog. I[censored] are a student, u must realize you are posting comment on you parents. Any school, college, institute is only for education, not for anything.
After watching this comment i completely understand you that you born by unknown people. you dont have mother or father. No son/daughter will comment on their parents if the parents are bad also.
As a visitor i found this college is from 1993 and every year it is producing number of graduates.
If college is bad, it is impossible to achieve new highs.
Please delete really if you born by mother and father, otherwise people easily understand who are you?

I pray god for you to give some basic knowledge and culture. best of luck.
                      haram kor,

                      kya tum pagal ho,
e college accha hai, tumhara dhimak karab karab hai,
pehle aapko doctor ko leke kuch treament dena padega,

chalo, jawo doctor ke paas, sabi accha hota hai
                      Helo,

This is a student of Brindavan college. I am very surpirised with all these comments. If one is so frustrated he/she should walk up to chairmans office and report the issue. His office is open to all studnets all the time. About teh remark of Director Mr. raed, he is not seen in college for many months now. so how can anyone have problems with him. All this comments is wring and please stop misguiding the new studnets.

Studnets here face problems when they dont attend classes or pay fee on time, . this is think is the right way..
if all that i said is true how is the college getting ransk in university. the recent graudation conducted in the campus was attendent by high profile personalities. please check with the good students of the college and not listen to the loosers who have failed to attend classes. the fee is not a problem as thier is no hiddent charges, the fee mentioned at the time of admission if paid on time there is no problem.

There are many HOD and principal who are willing to help. Call college authorities if you have any questions.

I am a parent of a studnet and I have not faced any problems. ofocurse there are minor problems with transport etc, which is resolved and this is common in all colleges.
                      MR. UNKNOWN,

DELETE YOU COMMENT IF YOU ARE NOT SADDIST.

                      Charting the Pathways of Life

                      "Knowledge makes you great"

I am indeed delighted to participate in the Graduation Day Ceremony of Brindavan College here in Bangalore. During the last 18 years this college has continuously added new streams of learning and research over time. My congratulations to all the young graduating students. My greetings to the Chairman, Faculty Members, Staff, Students, parents and distinguished guests participating in this important function. I was studying the college Mission which is "Disseminating of quality education to the students to develop their personality, to improve quality of life and to make them worthy citizens." This is indeed an important focal area for education system and societal needs which are the need of the integrated learning and research in the 21st century nation and the world.

Friends, while in the company of many young inspired students of Brindavan College, I would like to certain thoughts give my perspective on the topic "Charting the Pathways of Life". In this context, I will talk to you about four important aspects in life with my experiences – Aim in life, Acquiring Knowledge, working hard towards your dream even in the times of difficulty and then finally, how to manage failures and success in life.
                      Aim in Life

Friends, behind every successful venture and every inspiring career you will find an un-flinching aim which often is set early in life. Having an aim in life gives purpose to every action and orientation to every result. Let me give you my story which led to my aim in life which happened almost 7 decades ago.
                      Teacher gives Aim

When I think of aim in life, I am reminded of Shri Sivasubramaniam Iyer who taught me when I was studying in 5th class at the age of 10. He was a great teacher in our school. All o[censored]s loved to attend his class and hear him. One day he was teaching about bird flight. He drew a diagram of a bird on the blackboard depicting the wings, tail and the body structure with the head. He explained how the birds create the lift and fly. He also explained to us how they change direction while flying. Nearly for 25 minutes he gave the lecture with various information such as lift, drag, how the birds fly in a formation of 10, 20 or 30. At the end of the class, he wanted to know whether we understood how the birds fly. I said I did not understand. When I said this, the teacher asked the other students whether they understood or not. Many students said that they also did not understand. Our response did not upset him, since he was a committed teacher.

Our teacher said that he would take all o[censored]s to the seashore. That evening the whole class was at the sea shore of Rameswaram. We enjoyed the roaring sea waves knocking at the sandy hills. Birds were flying with sweet chirping voice. He showed the sea birds in formations of 10 to 20 numbers. We saw the marvelous formations of birds with a purpose and we were all amazed. He showed us the birds and asked us to see how the birds looked like, when they fly. We saw the wings flapping. He asked us to look at the tail portion with the combination of flapping wings and twisting tail. We noticed closely and found that the birds in that condition flew in the direction they desired. Then he asked us a question, where the engine was and how it was powered. Bird is powered by its own life and the motivation of what it wants. All these aspects were explained to us within fifteen minutes. We all understood the whole bird dynamics from this practical example. How nice it was? Our teacher was a great teacher; he could give us a theoretical lesson coupled with a live practical example available in nature. This was real teaching.

For me, it was not merely an understanding of how a bird flies. The bird's flight entered into me and created a special feeling. From that evening, I thought that my future study has to be with reference to flight and flight systems. I am saying this because my teacher's teaching and the event that I witnessed decided my future career. Then one evening after the classes, I asked the teacher, "Sir, please tell me, how to progress further in learning all about flight." He patiently explained to me that I should complete 8th class, and then go to high school, and then I should go to engineering college that may lead to education on flight. If I complete all my education with excellence, I might do something connected with flight sciences. This advice and the bird flying exercise given by my teacher, really gave me a goal and a mission for my life. When I went to college, I took Physics. When I went to engineering in Madras Institute of Technology, I took Aeronautical Engineering.

Thus my life was transformed as a rocket engineer, aerospace engineer and technologist. That one incident of my teacher teaching the lesson, showing the visual live example proved to be a turning point in my life which eventually shaped my profession and flying my friends.

Friends, before you enter into your professional life, it is important to forge your unique aim in life which will steer your efforts towards a well defined goal for the rest of your life. It will always remind you of your goals and give your strength in life.
                      Acquire Knowledge

Having an aim in life is incomplete until you are able to acquire the right knowledge needed to accomplish that aim. It is a matter of great privilege that you are all a part of an institution which is known for the knowledge enlightenment it provides. It is now your duty to make the best use of the resources, people and networks to acquire the optimal knowledge needed to propel you towards your goal. Knowledge will give you greatness, and will help you accomplish difficult missions in life.

I would like to share with all of you the story of my teacher Prof. Satish Dhawan. First, I worked in Delhi with the Ministry of Defence. Later I joined Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) in 1958 at Aeronautical Development Establishment at Bangalore. There with the advice of the Director, I took up the development of Hovercraft. Hovercraft design needed the development of a ducted contra- rotating propeller for creating a smooth flow balancing the torques. I did not know how to design a contra-rotating propeller though I knew how to design a conventional propeller. Some of my friends told me that I can approach Prof. Satish Dhawan of Indian Institute of Science, who was well known for his aeronautical research, for help in designing the ducted contra-rotating propeller.

I took permission from my Director Dr. Mediratta and went to Prof. Satish Dhawan who was sitting in a small room in Indian Institute of Science with lot of books in the background and a blackboard on the wall. Prof. Satish Dhawan asked me what the problem was that I would like to discuss? I explained the problem to Prof. Dhawan about my project work. He told me that it was really a challenging task and he would teach me the design if I attended his classes in Indian Institute of Science between 2.00 p.m. to 3.00 p.m. on all Saturdays for the next Six weeks. He was a visionary teacher. He prepared the schedule for the entire course and wrote it on the black board. He also gave me the reference material and books I should read before I started attending the course. I considered this as a great opportunity and started meeting him regularly. Before commencing each class, he would ask critical questions and assess my understanding of the subject. That was for the first time that I realized how a good teacher prepares himself for teaching with meticulous planning and prepares the student for acquisition of knowledge. This process continued for the next six weeks. I got the capability for designing the contra-rotating propeller. Prof. Dhawan told me that I am ready for developing the contra-rotating propeller for a given hovercraft configuration. That was the time I realized that Prof. Satish Dhawan was not only a teacher but also a fantastic development engineer of aeronautical systems.

Later during the critical phases of contra-rotating propeller system testing Professor Dhawan was with me and finding solutions to the problems. After reaching the smooth test phase, contra-rotating propeller went through 50 hours of continuous testing. Prof. Satish Dhawan witnessed the test himself and congratulated me. That was a great day for me when I saw the contra rotating propeller designed by my team performing to the mission requirement in the hovercraft. However, at that time, I did not realize that Prof. Satish Dhawan would become Chairman, ISRO and that I would get the opportunity to work with him as a Project Director in the development of Satellite Launch Vehicle SLV-3 for injecting the Rohini Satellite into the orbit. Nature has its own way to link the student's dream and the real life later.

This was the first design in my career, which gave me the confidence to deal with many complex aerospace systems in future. The hovercraft could fly just above the ground level carrying two passengers. I was the first pilot for this hovercraft and I could control and maneuver the vehicle in any direction. Above all, I learnt that in a project, problems would always crop up; we should not allow problems to be our masters but we should defeat the problems. Then success will sparkle.
Work Hard: Learning integrated system design

In order to achieve great aims one needs to work relentlessly towards the goal. Constant effort with application of proper knowledge can help overcome difficulties and scale steep heights. I would now discuss my own experience of hard work which brought a great learning to me.

While I was studying aeronautical engineering in MIT, Chennai,[protected] during the third year of my course, I was assigned a project to design a low-level attack aircraft together with six other colleagues. I was given the responsibility of system design and system integration by integrating the team members. Also, I was responsible for aerodynamic and structural design of the project. The other five of my team took up the design of propulsion, control, guidance, avionics and instrumentation of the aircraft. My design teacher Prof. Srinivasan, the then Director of MIT, was our guide. He reviewed the project and declared my work to be gloomy and disappointing. He didn't lend an ear to my difficulties in bringing together data base from multiple designers. I asked for a month's time to complete the task, since I had to get the inputs from five of my colleagues without which I cannot complete the system design. Prof. Srinivasan told me "Look, young man, today is Friday afternoon. I give you three days time. If by Monday morning I don't get the configuration design, your scholarship will be stopped." I had a jolt in my life, as scholarship was my lifeline, without which I cannot continue with my studies. There was no other way out but to finish the task. My team felt the need for working together round the clock. We didn’t sleep that night, working on the drawing board skipping our dinner. On Saturday, I took just an hour’s break. On Sunday morning, I was near completion, when I felt someone’s presence in my laboratory. It was Prof. Srinivasan studying my progress. After looking at my work, he patted and hugged me affectionately. He had words of appreciation: "I knew I was putting you under stress and asking you to meet a difficult deadline. You have done great job in system design".

Through this review mechanism, Prof Srinivasan, really injected the necessity o[censored]nderstanding the value of time by each team member and brought out the best from the system design team. I realized that if something is at stake, the human minds get ignited and the working capacity gets enhanced many fold. That’s what exactly happened. This is one of the techniques of building talent. The message is that young in the organization, whatever is their specialization, be trained to systems approach and projects, which will prepare them for new products, innovation and undertaking higher organizational responsibilities. It is important to work hard towards your chosen path – success is more a function of effort than anything else. Teacher has to be a coach like Prof. Srinivasan and as young professionals you should be prepared to put in your full energy behind your goal.
                      Managing Failure

Friends, when you set upon difficult missions it will bring difficult challenges which may sometimes produce temporary setbacks. The test of a human being is in accepting the failure and keep trying until he or she succeeds. Managing failures is a quality which is the essence of leadership. Let me now tell you an experience in this regard in my professional life.

When I think of Prof. Satish Dhawan, many incidents come to my mind. I would like to share with you again, one important incident, which is a valuable lesson to the younger generation. Friends, some of you know about the first experimental launch of SLV3, for which I was Project Director. On 10th August 1979, the vehicle took-off beautifully at T-0 and the first stage gave predicted performance. The second stage was initiated, but within a few seconds, we witnessed the vehicle in a tumbling motion and we lost the flight to the Bay of Bengal. It was 8 am in the morning. The whole team in spite of all day and night hard work and sweat for several days, was busy in collecting the data and trying to establish the reason for the flight failure. Meanwhile, I was called by Prof Satish Dhawan to attend a press conference. Before the press conference, Prof. Satish Dhawan told me that he was going to handle the situation and I should be present with many of the senior scientists and technologists. The press conference room was full with media. There was gloom, many questions were posed, some very powerful, thoughtful and also criticisms. Prof Satish Dhawan, announced "Friends, today we had the experimental launch of SLV3 to put ROHINI satellite in the orbit. It was a partial success. It is our first mission of proving multiple technologies in a launch vehicle. We have proved many technologies in this launch but still we have to prove some more. We have tumbled but not fallen flat. Above all I realize my team members have to be given all the technological support for the next mission to succeed". Subsequently, a failure analysis board established the cause and we proceeded with the preparation for the second launch.

The second mission of SLV-3 took place on 18th July 1980. It was 6.30 in the morning. The whole nation's attention was towards the SHAR launch complex, now named after Prof. Satish Dhawan as a great tribute to him. The mission teams were busy during the count down and carefully watching the flight sequence. At T-0 the vehicle took off and we witnessed a text book trajectory. After nearly 600 seconds of the flight I realized every stage has given the required velocity including the 4th stage. I made an announcement, "Mission Director calling all stations. The SLV-3 has given the required velocity and right altitude to put Rohini satellite in the orbit. Our down range stations and global stations will get the orbit of the satellite within an hour". There was a thunderous applause from all the stations and visitors gallery.

The most important thing happened then. Prof Satish Dhawan asked me to handle the press conference with our team members.

There are two messages I would like to convey here. First is about the resilience and courage to resurge after a setup. And the second is about the role of a leader in managing failure. The leader should give the credit of the success to the team members. When failure comes the leaders should absorb the failures and protect the team members. I could not get this beautiful, technological education of failure management in any of the text books written by any of the institutes at that time.
                      The joy of giving

Friends, let me now give you a memorable event from my professional work in missile technology, which gave me bliss. I would like to share with you an experience about the provision of FRO (Floor Reaction Orthosis) caliper to a polio affected child. During my visit to one of the hospitals in Hyderabad, I found many children were struggling to walk with an artificial limb weighing over 4 kgs. At the request of Prof. Prasad of NIMS, Head of orthopedic department at that time, I asked my AGNI missile friends why we cannot use the composite material used for AGNI heat shield for fabricating FROs for polio affected patients. They immediately said it is possible. We worked on this project for sometime and came up with a FRO for the child weighing around 400 gms in place of 4 kg. Exactly, 1/10th of the weight which the children were carrying. The doctors helped us to fit the new light weight FRO on the children and the children started walking and running around. Their parents were also present. Tears rolled down on all of their faces through the joy of seeing their children running with the light calipers. With the light weight device provided by the hospital they could run, ride a bicycle and do all sorts of things which they had been denied for a long time. The removal of the pain and the freedom attained by the children gave me a state of bliss which I never experienced during any other achievement in my life.
                      Conclusion: Unique You

Dear friends, Look up, what do you see, the light, the electric bulbs. Immediately, our thoughts go to the inventor Thomas Alva Edison, for his unique contribution towards the invention of electric bulb and his electrical lighting system. When you hear the sound of aero plane going over your house, whom do you think of? Wright Brothers proved that man could fly of course at heavy risk and cost. Whom does the telephone remind you of? Of course, Alexander Graham Bell. When everybody considered a sea travel as an experience or a voyage, a unique person questioned during his sea travel from United Kingdom to India. He was pondering on why the horizon where the sky and sea meet looks blue? His research resulted in the phenomena of scattering of light. Of course, Sir CV Raman was awarded Nobel Prize. India is fortunate, the world is fortunate to have had a millennium leader of 20th century, that is Father of the Nation "Mahatma Gandhi" who got us the freedom and also he became a great leader for South Africa’s movement against apartheid. So far, we have studied those who walked into unexplored path and strived to be unique and are remembered for their contribution to the human kind. Now the question is: how many among you, would like to be "unique you".

I have, so far, met 11 million youth in India and abroad, in a decade’s time. I learnt, "every youth wants to be unique, that is, YOU! But the world all around you, is doing its best, day and night, to make you just "everybody else".

The challenge, my young friends, is that you have to fight the hardest battle, which any human being can ever imagine to fight; and never stop fighting until you arrive at your destined place, that is, a UNIQUE YOU! As you graduate today, remember this lesson and nurture it as you evolve your pathways in life.

With these words, I once again congratulate the graduating students. My greetings and best wishes to all for their future endeavors.

                      May God bless you.

                      Oath for Graduating Students

                      2. I will always remember that “Let not my winged days, be spent in vain”.

                      3. I realize I have to set a great societal goal emanating from the field of expertise that will lead me to think high, work and persevere to realize the goal.

                      4. My greatest friends will be great scientific -technological – compassionate minds, good teachers, good books and good internal environment.

hi I am a Sri Lankan passed out of this college 3 years back and i have to sadly say that i agree 100% with the writer. I have read the other allegations including the students who have said that they are top scorers ( I am a top scorer too, infact I topped my batch in all 3 of my UG years). I can't see why all of you are hiding the many disadvantages that we had to face during our stay at in Bangalore. We went through so many different teachers (which were not so competent) and had such troublesome time when it came to practicals. The library was a sorry facility and we never had proper cafeteria food( I am talking about the situation i had 3 years ago so i do not know if these have changed by now).
The money factor was harder on most o[censored]s Sri Lankans as we had to multiply what ever amount that they shoved at us by 2.5.
It was a bigger mistake done by me to introduce 2 more of my cousins to the college when I left. I will regret this decision forever as my cousin brother wasn't even given proper hostel facilities. I had to fight and argue with the management for a decent accommodation.
I have heard from my juniors that the facilities are far worse now.
I also have to say that the fact that the university and the college office have no proper coordination. Most o[censored]s had problems with getting our marks cards and degree certificates.
I can go on like this but I have to mention that I had a good life in Bangalore. I had good friends and I did come across few lovely teachers who were really devoted to us and tried to help us get through our exams despite their own sorry facilities. I have been informed that one of these excellent teachers have been removed because she was there for more than 3 years and they didn't want to pay her. She was replaced with an inexperienced teacher who didn't even have the basic knowledge needed to teach the subject given to her.
As I said unfortunately the cons outweigh the pros and since then I have discouraged any student who wants to go to this college.
I hope that the college is able to consider these and strive to be a better institution.
                      Hi guys,

I partially agree with your posting but at the same time
i would like to mention recent developments happening in the
                      college -

As everyone knows that Dr. Bhat(Great scientiset of brindavan college) and Dr. Pratima Khandewal having affair since many years. But recently (after leaving
brindavan college) i have seen them in a Hotel in my own eyes moving together
                      holding hands.

Everyone in the college talks about Dr. Pratima and Bhat
about their love story (in this age), why still stupid chairman
is having soft corner about them. unless he is also involved
in such sexual relation with her. its very simple to
understand that both of them still working as agents to
                      chairman.

This big chairman developed his institution in very
big way from our money by lifting his college to
the high level by inviting ministers, from film industry,
prime ministers, chief ministers every body comes
to this college, why why why? which we should not
allow him to function in this way.

again, dear friends, praima kandelwal, former HOD
is making money in huge way by having sexual relation
with other college chairmans and higher officers like Dr. bhat,
because one of my friend seen her in the resort with
                      chairman of reputed college recently.

                      see u guys later ...
I also partially agree with the the views expressed here. The college is ok but still can do better with a futuristic view. The chairman is investing on the infrastructure but do not care for the staff members.

Every six months, senior staff members are being leaving the institution and juniors that too with no adequate subject knowledge are being recruited just because they are available at a lower salary and teachers with experience are made to leave so the management can save their higher salaries.

The management is not keen on providing good faculty to the students. Even in the engineering college also, same things are happening. Becuase of the lower lower salary as compared to other surrounding engineering colleges senior staff members are leaving the college and juniors are being appointed and some juniors are being paid higher salaries even though there are senior staff drawing lesser salary in the college.

The management do not want the seniors and experieced to stay back in the college for a long time. It just want to through out the seniors. Very poor Salary is being offered in the college. the management lacks the conviction in making the institution a world class one.

The students are being harrassed by the management. the hostel is big mess and no adequate facilities are given.

There are numbers of good colleges in bangalore and demand for engineering is reducing. More colleges, more seats and less students. SO DON';T ADMISSIONS IN THESE COLLEGES WHERE NO ADEQUATE STAFF AND NO PROPER MANAGEMENT IS IN PLACE.

We have heard that in engineering college almost all gents staff are leaving within a month or two including the HOD's and no experienced faculty will stay in this college which has poor concern about the teachers.
I do agree with the above comment. In brindavan college they are not giving any PF for any faculty . Even though there is a rule to give PF by the government for the staff with less than 6500 salary they are not giving any PF. No government agency or PF authoritities are checking the records.

More over they deduct 10% of the salary as security deposit and three months notice for resigning. But when they are terminating they are not giving 3 months notice. Such unfair practices are being followed in the institution. We all have to unite together against such practises and fight for the justice.
                      HELO,

i 100% agree PRTIMA KHANDELWAL IS A BIG OF BRINDAVAN COLLEGE,

                      helo,

I AGREE THAT DR. PRATIMA KHANDELWAL IS A BIG , SHE DARE ENOUGH TO DO ANYTHING.

i was a student of this college, when DR. PRATIMA KHANDELWALA WAS HOD IN BIOTECHNLOGY.
We were thinking that she was a good professor but now real thing that she was acting as good professor and fooling the students and management in many aspects.
Now, this useless management opened their eyes and removed her,
I think new HOD is really good which i came to know from my cousin who is doing msc course from this college.
I dont know much about relationship of dr. BHATt and PRATHIMA KANDEWAL, but they use to go many places together many times AND SHE USE TO GO WITH OTHER STAFF AND MANAGEMENT TO OUTSIDE BANGALORE ALSO OUT SIDE INDIA
NOW at least college authority learnt something from her and i hope they will not keep such faculties in the college.
I HATE DR. PRATIMA KHANDEWAL ... NO DOUT BIG
This post is on behalf o[censored]s, the graduates MSc BT students from brindavan college - we can say that we are lucky who have been helped by our HOD Pratima Khandelwal ma’am. She is one inspiration and shall remain for many o[censored]s. First we felt very sad to read these posts but when thought seriously we felt it doesn’t much worry to read silly lines about her as we know her and writing to spoil her name doesn’t change her. She worked hard in college and do many works of teaching, giving height to department and supporting college. we feel that hardly some one said any thing when she was there and now when she is not in college it is easy for some to just say bad about her. At least look at things by open eye and then comment. Please note jealousy and hatred harm us before harming other. It was seen when we were in college that many were jealous of her and our dept. One more thing that these days cyber police is armed well. Why can’t talk to her directly in case some difficulty or hating scene is there . you can write to us at [protected]@gmail.com. We feel college is fine and v are happy to be student there.
I am a father of MBA student who took admission last year in the seminar which was held in Goa. After two days of admission Dr. Pratima Kandelwal, HOD of msc biotechnology informed me about this website. Immediately after reading this I cancelled my child admission in panic mind. But now after seeing the progress of the college and beautiful graduation day function where was the Chief Guest is the former president of India, DR. APJ Abdul Kalam which shows that the college is doing very good.

Remembering last year conversation with Dr. Pratima Kandelwal that she is the only one who is posting all bad comments from the beginning.

I regret for my child admission cancellation which dr. pratima kandelwal was the reason for that because of that I am revealing all these information.
I am one of the passed out students of Dr. Pratima Kandwewal, completed my msc biotechnology course from Brindavan college. I agree that she is the one who posting all the bad comments and postings in this website because all the earlier posting was known to us through her when I was studying in the college. Now I am realizing why she was asking us to see this website. (two or three times she personally told me to check this website). it is shame about dr. pratima kandelwal.
What nonsense is this...I have graduated from this college couple of years back and doing pretty good in life coz of the help and support privided by the teachers and management authority...And for all you who has complains about charging money for shortage of attendance should feel lucky that they still giving you a chance to sit for the exams whereas i know many a college in bangalore who wouldnt even look at your face and throw you out of the college for a yr atleast..Im sure whoever has complains about this college has never attended classes properly and just there for the sake being there without any motive...Guys EVERY COLLEGE IS GOOD, ITS YOU HOW YOU PERFORM AND UTILIZE THE RESOURCES AVAILABLE...WISH YOU ALL THE BEST FOR YOUR FUTURE...
I do agree about this post and later comments. The college management does not have vision and master plan for the development. It only focuses on day-to-day activities and has only short term goal of saving the money.

They only think about 100 or 1000 rupees and harassing the students and staff. The staff members in the college are harassed a lot and when they wanted to leave this institution, they are also harassed by not giving their 10% of the salary which they deducted illegally and asking for 3 months notice even during the vacation period when there is not much work in the college. BY HOOK OR CROOK THE MANAGEMENT WANTS MINT MONEY FROM THE STUDENTS AND STAFF.

The staff members who have joined the institute recently are offered good salary without considering the salary of the senior staff who are working promptly and sincerely in the college. They are made to leave the institution. They don't want the senior staff to work for longer time in the institution.

I HATE THIS COLLEGE WHICH IS EXISTING AND BEING ESTABLISHED JUST TO SUCK MONEY FROM THE STUDENTS AND STAFF
its very late that u understood. this alll southern side highly publicized institutes r of this category xepct a few. dont let ur parents bleed and have mercy on them bcoz i cud see the phobia around these institutes. they r culturally at and instigating students to follow wrong path. dress code is ridiculous and horrific. they make students like item girls and boys.

The college is very good with all better and world class facilities. Chairman is always touring the different countries and observe the world class infrastructure and tries to implement the same in his college. The chairman is very co-operative and listens to the complaints by the students and take appropriate measures to solve those problems. He is always accessible to the students
