I am posting this complaint to share my genuine experience with Budli.in and to seek resolution, as well as to inform other consumers.
I placed a prepaid order (Order No. 7984) on Budli.in after the website accepted my delivery address and payment in full. The system generated an order confirmation, and the order was later manually confirmed by Budli’s team as well.
After confirming the order and accepting payment, Budli informed me that the product cannot be delivered outside Bangalore. This restriction was communicated only after order confirmation and payment.
Despite the fact that:
• The order was never shipped
• No service was provided
• Cancellation happened due to Budli’s inability to deliver, not my request
Budli demanded 15% cancellation charges to process the refund and repeatedly pressured me to email my “acceptance” of this deduction.
What is more concerning is that I later found another case involving Budli where they stated that 15% cancellation charges are not applicable if an order is not processed. In my case, the order was also not processed, yet the same charges are being demanded, showing inconsistent and arbitrary application of their own terms.
Due to this unfair trade practice and deficiency of service, I have escalated the matter to the National Consumer Helpline (Government of India).
I am requesting:
• Full refund without any cancellation charges
• Fair and consistent treatment as a consumer
I strongly advise other buyers to be very cautious with prepaid orders, especially if delivery location restrictions exist.
