[Resolved]  DLF Southern Towns Pvt. Ltd. / DLF Home Developers Ltd. — Delay in Project and Illegal Tax Request

DLF launched New Town Heights in Kakkand, Kochi during mid 2008 with a promise to start the construction by end 2008. However no construction was started still June 2009 .Only by April, 2009 they made the agreement with allottees with all one sided clause which is against the law of the country. However with threat of forfeiting the booking amount all signed the agreement. By Augest, 2009, they came up with a supplementary agreement with Rs.10/delay penalty and with construction link payment plan. That is again a game plan with them to cheat people as 95% of the amount they want to collect when last slab finished but, no other infrastructure or interior work . However again many signed and some even not got this supplementary agreement. By mid 2012 they collected 95% of amount when only 35-40% of the overall project works over. Many innocent allottees though the Rs.10 delay penalty is gift. However by simple calculation is very wrong. Take case a Rs.40 Lacs with 9% interest and a 1500 Sq.ft with Rs.10/sq.ft . 9% interest comes around Rs.3.6 lacs/year and delay penalty is Rs.1500X10X12 = 1.8laca/year. Hence net profit for DLF is Rs.1.8 lacs.. The present state of project is only 70% complete with some court stay order for building the club house and boundary wall. Hence the work is stop on club house and wall. Also the work is progressing very slow and the material quality is also very poor . At the same pace it will take another 2 years to complete. Over and above during August, 2013 DLF slapped a tax payment request of Rs.100/Sq.ft. By that time nearly 300 owners came together in Face book to discuss the various issues with the project . By sensing the trouble like any other corporate DLF brought one or 2 allotees and sabotage the facebook group. These 1 or 2 people are calling other allottees and asking them to pay the amount . However many members still not paid the tax and send Legal notice to DLF to withdraw the tax . Now we are waiting the response from DLF if not we will proceed with next next. Don’t think delay penalty is a gift from DLF, actually DLF is gaining only when there is more and more delay .
